I bought an HID kit from garage 16 and i can't seem to install them properly. when you take the bulb out of the housing it has an adapter type thing attached to the bulb that kind of locks the bulb into the housing. when i put the hid bulb in, its attached by the wire so you can't put the HID bulb on the adapter. it doesn't sit properly in the housing and the hook that holds it in place doesn't close properly because that adapter isn't there. i've connected the bulbs and turned on the car and it works so the wiring is all fine i just can't figure out how to get the bulb to sit properly. anyone else run into this issue or am i missing a piece?

You need a spacer.

You can buy them separately or make one using the rubber grommet holding the wires together.

Just my 2 cents, but some guides say to cut out a notch from the rubber grommet to fit the bulb properly. I find that using it whole without cutting out that notch makes for a tighter and better fit. Again, just my experience.

Might also help if I knew what bulb type you have..is it an H7? :)

On the G16 OLLO kit - you have to cut the grommet down the side to get it off

I dont think it matters with the G16 HID kit.

has nothing to do with bulb type in this case. You have to get a spacer, or cut the centre out of the rubber grommet that comes with this kit and use that as a spacer.

alright so i finally get these in and they started to work but one started to flicker so i made sure everything was tight and once they were steady on i was letting them warm up for about 5 minutes and all of a sudden the one that was flickering started smoking and my red wire got burnt off by the bulb. i would show you guys a picture but not to familiar on how to post a pic.

First off - uninstall everything and do not use it anymore.!!!!

Something is messed up - could be a defect - but one thing is for certain IT IS MOT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE AND BURN

Get Rick to swap it out.
Where abouts are you. I'd be willing to meet to help install. ( my ballast just blew and it took me 30s at ricks shop to swap it. )

I will ask though. Seeing as your in an 04. Don't you need to do the drl mod.

Yes he does, as without a relay harness they will flicker in DRL-mode.

If you're running the HIDs as drls, you will need a capacitor to prevent the flickering .
