Very happy to say that sub & amp have been installed by Lockdown Security (Nugget in Scarborough).:D
a) System sounds better than I ever expected (perks of a hatch!)
b) install was more convenient than I ever expected.
Shout out to Mark@ Lockdown for the great service and great outcome.
I can finally drive in peace... with the bass way up
Anyone thinking of putting an audio system in their hatch, one 12inch is sufficient and if you get a great sub with a great amp, one 12 will be explosive
:)
Now...on to the next mods..... :hawt

Now you're all picture-happy, eh? :chuckle
I'd take the cover off if it was my sub, but I guess you have to protect your investment when you have other items back there.

Hahaha....yeaaa....ummmm maybe I shouldnt of been so pressured to post pics :P LOL
I kind of like how the cover almost perfectly matches my car.
Its a little bit cheesy, however- I always have a huge gym bag in the trunk, and my driving is um.... well, lets say stuff moves around alot so Im going to leave the cover on for now.
I got the amp off a TM3 member and it works great with the sub.
Thanks guys =D
Its small & simple but dont let that fool you...

What about plastidipping the cover part? At least you can still protect your sub without the silver covering it.

Looks great, Marta.
Where did you mount the amp? You could also flip the box so that the sub faces upwards... As not to let anything hit the woofer

whats special about the cargo cover?
if I was to hazard a guess....it would be to remove the (words from a couple of punks looking for something to steal) "hey guys, come take a look at this! ! ! ! a wicked sub I JUST GOTTA have, and a large gym bag"......LET"S DO THIS" kinda problem. I know if I had a kickass system in my ride. . . maybe where I park during the day (if I lived in Toronto), that's what I'd be thinking of.
I'm sure there are lots a dudes that'll say "I park in the etc etc area and I NEVER had my shat stolen". But I think it comes down to comfort level I guess. Plus it keeps everything clean :)

I have to look into this plasti-dipping thing... I have never even heard of it. Will definitly check it out.
The amp was mounted on the back of the box by Lockdown Security, as per my request. I needed to have unrestricted access to the spare tire if I was to ever need it (knock on wood). I also dislike the way many amps look when installed on seats. This way, its a clean setup, its also very small (takes up less than 1/6th of my trunk space, and that is why I am so completely impressed with the outcome. Its tiny but powerful.
With that being said, there is a certain responsibility with higher volume systems. You cant be a punk with it. No blaring it in residential neighbourhoods at night, no blaring it with all windows down at red lights, etc. Loud should be for driver pleasure only, and neednot totally piss off all of the other drivers you're stuck in traffic with that dont actually wanna hear "RACK CITY" at full pop.:P Just thought Id mention this, as a side note to prevent any misconceptions :)
whats special about the cargo cover?
Im going to explain this very simply: I live in SCARBOROUGH.
Finding the cargo cover was a miracle though, I looked all over and even with my dealer discounts and "connections" the cheapest price I got was over $300. Couldnt even find a used one online. Finally, found an ad on kijiji from like 6 months ago, and I ended up picking it up off some random guy downtown, for $20 bucks! :DHe even installed it and everything. Very thankful... I didnt ask any questions and left asap haha. True Scarborough movement right there. Get your shit and dipppppp LOL
But yes, the cargo cover
1) hides the system=> especially good since I kept the stock radio... so its difficult to assertain that a system is in place
2) hides my gym bag and fighting gear
3) hides everything else in my trunk

Looks great, Marta.

Could not flip the box because of its funny size and shape (not a square) the amp would not fit on the sizes of it, and it barely fit on the back of the sub. Plus, flipped box would look ugly and would take up much more space as its much taller than it is wider.
Thank you everyone for the feedback :) Im glad you like it.
Its simple but perfect for me!

Glad that you are happy with the outcome. It's surprising how much sound can come out of some of these little systems. It's nice to have access to the spare if need be (knock on wood) and personally I don't think the grill looks bad, it is a very close match to your exterior paint. The way the box is right now allows for the most usable space in the hatch.
Come by any time, since you're just around the corner and tell your co-worker to come by too with his Mercedes and we will hook him up too.
