I never thought I would see the day when my wife would get a Mazda until last week when she started looking at the CX-5. She traded in her Grand Caravan for one and took delivery this afternoon. She got hereself a GX trim and I do say it was indeed a good choice.

Enough about the car, I just wanted to share how great the folks at Direct Mazda were. I got my 2010 3-GT from Peter Pickering and he was absolutely fantastic. In my previous review, I raved about how Peter provided me with the absolute Mazda shopping experience and I never thought it could be duplicated by anyone else from the same dealership. I guess I was wrong......then came Mr. Danielle Angelucci. I was hoping to deal with Peter again but since he was the President & GM, he was really busy with things and referred me to Danielle instead. I thank him for doing so because Danielle elevated our shopping experience to another level. He made our "SUV-shopping" well beyond pleasant. As usual, the presentation was direct to the point: what were our needs, in what areas are we most concerned? Danielle took the time and patiently reviewed the specifications of the CX-5 with us. Please bear in mind that I have done my assignment during the last time I shopped for a 3 and had various experiences from various dealerships, both pleasant and un-pleasant, that is why I chose to go back to Direct Mazda. Patience played a big role in my dealings with Direct Mazda, both Peter and Danielle did have great patience in dealing with my being fickle minded......oh believe me, I kept going back and forth, color and trim wise (even though it was going to be for my wife). Heck, I even had the wife thinking of getting a CX-7 instead since the current deals were also tempting.

The trade in value was more than acceptable compared to other prices which I gathered. The rust proofing and undercoating deal was perfect, compared to the deal when I first got my 2007 Mazda 5 from another dealership. Bottom line is, I got a good deal from these guys and I couldn't ask for anything more.

So if you happen to be shopping for a Mazda and you just live around the vicinity, give these guys a visit, look for Danielle or Peter and you certainly won't go wrong.

To the guys at Direct Mazda.......kudos and more power to you!!!

That was the issue though Booter, the Mazda Canada website had it as "steel rims with wheel covers" and the official brochure said "styled steel wheels". To be honest, I was put-off by the look when I first saw it and my only thought was Mazda could have done better with at least wheel covers on them or made alloys as a standard. The GS trim has the 17 inch alloy wheels on them, while the GT had the beautiful 19 inch ones. :rolleyes

If my wife opted for the convenience package, we would have had the 17 inch alloys to go with it, but my wife said she was okay with it. She thinks adding another 1.4k for the convenience package will not really make a difference for her. If it were my choice (and it did bother me), I would have opted for a GS but then again, I guess it all boiled down to choices and what would fit our (or her)budget and basic need.

Now if all other dealers would have alloys as standard on their GX trim (base model with no convenience package), now that would have been a different story. The brochure says "styled steel wheels".....I do believe that is what we got. ;)

+1 for Direct Mazda

I just picked up the CX-5 GS this week, sales team at Direct were great. I mostly dealt with Majid (Sales Manager), but also talked to Raheel. Overall I felt great about the transaction, much better than my experience with Gyro two years ago when I bought my 3. They were able to give me a great deal on my trade in, and were quick with the paperwork and getting the new vehicle in my hands. I've had positive experiences with the service team over the last year or so, and their sales team clearly brings the same attention to customer service.

those wheels are dirty and not in a good way! figures mazda would find a way to cheese out this car! steel wheels with hub caps would have be a more desirable option! Time to go to www.tirerack.com swap rubber and chuck those rims through MCI head Quarters.

+1 for Peter Pickering. He actually leased me my very first car, 2002 Mazda Protege5, at Mountain Mazda. (one of three dealerships that he owns) Congrats on the purchase!

True true! Been surfing for replacement rims already. 1010 is Canada but seems to have fewer choices compared to Tirerack.
