Regarding paypas mastercards/visas: dont just put your wallet up to the sensor!

lol this might be common sense but, when buying gas, i used to take my wallet out, put it against the paypass emblem, and away i went. I had an old, expired card in my wallet as well, that happened to be paypas. What had happened last october and november was that when i did that at petrocan, it was reading my old expired card, and not my usual ct mastercard.

I had a balance of 292 bucks that carried over for 5 months, no payments, it actually took a huge hit on my credit!

the card was a really old one from 08! I had used it for a balance transfer for school tuition, and had never used it for any purchases. I kept it in my wallet for emergencies, lol

my credit score would have been really high, but right now is actually really low because of those 5 months balance carrying over.

doh!





the scary thing is my expired card still ringing through no problem. They had sent me a new card which i cut up, and had never activated it.

I didn't even realise you didnt have to take the card out. I always do. Good thing apparently.

Make a dispute with the card company. Some occasions they will reverse the hit. You will have to pay still but seeing as it was expired it should be easy. ( I've had to do it a couple times because of identity errors)

I wasnt aware my Esso paypas could expire. I love that little fob.

they only reverse charges within 30 days, these were in nov and oct.

its all good, its gas i put in my car, i dont mind paying it. i didnt pay for it twice

I know they won't reverse the charges. But they will put in for a credit alteration.

i probably did, but the address on the car was like 4 residences ago. I hadnt used the card since 08 so i didnt get the invoice
