Hi All,

Havent been on in a while. My g/f and I traded in our 2005 M3 Sport GT last week for a new 2012 M3 GX, adding the convenience package. We're having trouble getting the Bluetooth working properly with my LG Rumour2 phone. We didnt have any trouble pairing it up, but whenever the phone is in the car it continously reboots itsself about every half-minute or so at regular intervals. I've tried deleting the pairing and redoing it about 4 times, that hasnt worked. Today I went to the dealer to get the lugs torqued and asked about that. Tried to pair them up again, sill didnt help. Then one of the guys asked me to check my settings on the phone itself, spcifically if the bt device was hidden or visable. Well it was hidden, so I made it visible and sure enough it worked while I was there. Thinking the problem was solved, I went on to run an errand. when I started the car back up about 20 minutes later, the same old problem was persisting. It was rebooting itself fast enough that I didnt even have time to check my settings in the car. Once out, I checked, and the device was still fully visible. Any ideas or should I just chuck the phone and get a new one?

Its the phone. Ive paired a blackberry, android, and iphone to my cars bluetooth and they all work pretty well.

Rumour2 is a pretty old phone, not saying you have to get a really expensive one but something newer at least.

Just an update, waiting to hear back from the service dept at Atlanticmazda.com about this, they are researching the issue. I've also been in touch with Bell Mobility, they haev no clue and are passing the back. they asked me to do some trouble shooting and to try other devices in the car and to try the LG with other BT devices as well. Im in electronics sales so I paired up my phone with a few devices at work, one had no issues at all, the other wouldnt link up. Gonna try my sister's Blackberry this afternoon to see how that works.

One interesting thing I discovered is changing the "link" using the controls on the factory audio system seems to fix the issue temporarily til I shut the ignition off. Ill do that even though I only have one device paired up at the moment. Only takes a few seconds to do and I can do it while the engine is warming up.
