Hi everyone,
So to keep a long story short I have a murano as well as the 3. I want to retrofit the OEM rearview camera in to the truck because i think the aftermarket OEM integration one I put in is absoloute garbage. I have tried a few different cameras and none come out the way I like. I have peiced together the OEM setup and even went overboard in buying a new tailgate to make it all as smoothe as possible. Now my dilemma is that my truck is an 04 with a mannual trunk release and the retrofit parts are off of an 05 and newer model with an electronic trunk release which also has a so called intelligent key module aka wireless start no need for key. The trunk lock/unlock and power for the switch is controlled by the intelligent key unit so that when locked you cannot simply open the trunk. Now what would I have to use to mimmick the signal comming from the inteligent key unit so that when locked the trunk does not open and when unlocked it does open. I have figured I will need some kind of relay and i will have to tap in to the lock and unlock signal. I have done a little bit of reading and think that a PAC-TR7 may be my answer

Anybody who could shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated

Can you clarify a bit how the trunk lock mech works? I *think* what you are saying is that when the car is locked the release lever does nothing, but when when the car is unlocked the release lever triggers the trunk popper. If so, I would suspect that all that would be needed is to cut the power or ground when the car is locked. You can probably tap into the passenger door locked/unlocked status wire (assuming there is one) and use that. Might need a relay to invert the signal... Do you have a wiring diagram?

the one I have installed on the car simply works right from the body control module. when the lock signal is sent the actuator does not allow the trunk to open and when the unlock signal is sent the actuator opens.
The one I am putting in is fully electronic and will need some sort of power only when the unlock signal is sent and power off when the lock signal is sent.
Since I posted this, I have done some more reading and found that I will be needing a particular 30G relay. When 1 input is sent it flicks the relay over permanently until input 2 is recieved. I have full access to all the necesary wiring diagrams through alldata. Now I just need to find one

You are talking about a set/reset relay..... check Parts Source..... you can achieve this with a 2 relay setup as well, if it's cheaper.

Thank you for the input. Cost is not really an issue. I have so much $$ invested in this setup no point in cheaping out now to get it done right. I have run this by my electrical expert at work as well and he agrees I need a 30g relay. He saw all the wiring diagrams that I have supplied him with from the 04 and the 06 and they are VERY similar. Thanks for all the feedback
