Is anyone here attending the Montreal Grand Prix??

My wife just won Ok Tires, Pirelli's biggest fan contest...She won us airfare to montreal, Presidential suite at Fairmont Queen Elizabeth for 3 nights, 2 passes to the Pirelli VIP tent, and 2 silver grandstand tickets!!!! I'm pretty pumped, i've always wanted to go to this race but really couldn't justify it!!!

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Nice win!!!

I'll be in montreal that weekend as well, but won't be going to the race. A few buddies of mine will be at the race, but got those cheap spectator seats.

Enjoy! Haven't been since the switch over to the new engines.

If you haven't been make sure to check out everything along St Catherines Street. They used to shut one of the smaller streets off for Ferrari road cars on Friday night and BMW cars on Saturday.

Which silver grand stands are you in?

What a great thing to win. Have a great time and give us a report please.

Last year my wife and I were at a wedding in Montreal and the reception was at the former Canadian Pavillion for Expo 67. When we got off the bridge to the island and onto the road, the first thing we saw was a sign saying 'Welcome to the Gilles Villenueve speedway' or something like that. In other words we were driving right on the F1 racetrack. If this doesn't raise your excitement level then you are dead. That sign was quickly followed by a sign saying the speed limit was 30KM/hour, so it was back down to earth! We were in my wife's Escape. If it had been my M3, I sure would have been tempted to open it up a bit.

To the OP...that is an awesome prize! It's easier to get a ticket to the race than it is an affordable hotel room for the weekend...even dive hotels outside the city can easily run you a few hundred a night.

I was offered a ticket to this years race by a colleague but had to turn it down!

Stay in McGill's summer hotel. Rooms are $45-$60 a night.

I'll be there on Saturday for the qualifications. Be sure to check out Crescent St. between St. Catherines and Maisonneuve, there's activities throughout the weekend. St. Laurent is another street you might wanna check out. Hopefully the students don't ruin the event. Rumor has it they're planning something :bang

Will check out those for sure.... And worse comes to worse, if the students ruin it we are still getting 3 nights in a suite in an extremely posh hotel and a convertible for the weekend so it will be great either way!!!

I'm going, I have gone every year for the past 6 years.
Sitting in Grandstand 31 I believe, have to check the tickets.

I am a bit concerned about what is planned for the weekend:

^ That is awesome! Hopefully the student protests don't ruin what is typically a fantastic event!

Ferrari elite lodge? That is really sweet. As for the "students" they already forced the GP to cancel Open Track day on Thursday. Open Track day is free for everybody to get up close and personal to the track, pits, etc. A lot of people who can't afford to go watch the GP usually get to enjoy it some way too but not this year.

You lucky bastid!
+1 on roaming the closed streets during the GP block parties

If you're in the area - go to "le Bocadillo's" and get one of their Venezuelan burgers. Obviously go to St Huberts for some poulet and Poutine. And Schwartz's for some Reubens

Don't forget to go to "Chez Paris" :)
