So I've noticed recently that the car is making a weird noise at idle. I've done my fair amount of research and I can comfirm it isn't the valve timing ticking. The noise is present until I depress the clutch the whole way down, then it goes away. When I release the clutch the noise comes back.

It isn't the loudest noise in the world but it is still noticeable. Any ideas as to what it could be? I'd say its coming from the drivers side of the engine bay.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bump.

Spoke to a friend of mine that is a mechanic and tried to replicate the sound for him. His thoughts are the pressure release bearings from the clutch are gone, and the clutch is on its way out. Has anyone else had this problem? Any other ideas before I dump money into a clutch?

I was going through that thread a couple of days ago. I think its a similar problem except when the clutch is down the noise dissapears. Thats why it is leading me to beleive that there may be something going on with the clutch itself.
