hey guys,

i just wanted to share my lasted adventure in the world of modding. i finally upgraded my audio system to a pioneer system. many thanks to dave2010gt for helping me out with the system package! great guy and gave me some real good advice.

I did the install with the help of a friend (thank the lord i have a good buddy!)

package included:

AVH-P4400BH - 7" DVD double din
TS-A1604C - front 6.5" comp speakers
TS-A6874R - rear 6x8" 3 way spearkers
GM-D7800M - mono amp for sub
TS-SWX251 - 10" preloaded shallow mount sub
4 gauge amp kit

Decided to run the amp power through the cluch pedal grommet. I have to say it was fun pulling out the battery and then practicing my yoga poses under the steering wheel. I now know why labour cost as much as it does. Running through the grommet was easy and it made a nice tidy look in the engine. However, i need to drill through the battery holder so that i can put the top back in.

pic is upside, sorry! i did cover it up with the carpet

Removing the door panels was easy because i had a schoches stereo kit. didn't break one screw!!! however, you just need to get physical with the door other wise it takes forever. Had to drill a hole in the plastic to hid all the wires because i didn't use the factory adaptors.

The biggest issue that we had on the install was that the new speakers have massive magnets and kept grounding out, due to the side impact beams. Covered them up with some dynamat and a lot of electric tape.

These speakers are really crisp and full. Loving it!

this deck is pretty and really easy to use. bought it for the bluetooth capability due to the fact that i am not part of the apple cult! the bluetooth is better than the factory one. the steering wheel controls are really quick, thanks to dave2010gt for wiring up that for me. oh, hooked up the dvd parking brake bypass and that works well too. overall very happy with this set up, no complaints.

Great set up! I like where you put the amp. Is that a 12" sub. Great looking deck too. That install must have taken a long time.

I won a sweet Kenwood deck at the BubbaQ today. Gotta pick it up from AutoLinks, hoping the install cost wont be too much with the sub system I already have

Does your led screen on top of the air vents still work? And does it still indicate input and song info ?

That screen won't work anymore if you change the deck.

If you have the GT with auto climate control that's all you'll see up there.

So. There is nothing I can buy or do to make it work ? Even just to hello and goodbye lol. Will it still tell me outside temp ?

Wait which screen are you talking about???

The red one of the black and white HUD. If it's the HUD nothing changes on that. IF your talking about the red lcd it will say hello and that's it.

That screen. It says hello and song title etc. also outside temp in bottom left ( I would think that the temp is connected to HVAC)
( sorry about quality)
