Hi its my first post and need some help,
so i have a 07 mazda 3 hatch on stock springs (no mods basically),
and today i decided to put in new rims/tires, i had a 17x7 MSR45 with 225/45Z R17.
After i got them in i did a test drive, it was making a rubbing noise?
Is it really rubbing? or some other problems?
Please help :(:(
thanks

No way that's rubbing. 225 is on the big end for a 7 inch rim but apart from that, the wheel specs are almost stock

Maybe a low offset?

could be uneven tire wear....I recently installed my summer tires and rotated the rears to the front...guess there was uneven wear and it sounds pretty awful. Could have sworn my bearing was shot or the brakes were sticking, but I had the brakes looked at, the wheels re-balanced and the alignment check.
tires can make some funky noises when theres something wrong with the tread.
best bet if it continues is to take it in to a mechanic and have it checked out.

no damage in tires or anywhere, i dont smell any burning too. I hope its not something serious :(

Oh, I just posted that because you mentioned that it could be rubbing.. I mean, wide tires + low offset sometimes don't work together. As for the offset, I think it's stamped somewhere on the wheel, likely in the back.

its fixxed now, sadly i had one minor bend rim but nothing serious. plus the tires i have on was worn uneven which makes it worst, so i got some new tires + the bend rim at the back. Problem solved!! :D
i dont really worry that much cause snow in hamilton gets bad so not going to use this summer rims all year long, but yes thanks a lot guys such big help :D
