I hear the ballasts from the HID Kits can get really hot, especially during the summer. I was wondering if there was a special kind of out door mounting tape to use for that or if there was something entirely different to use because of the heat. I also heard using thermal paste on it could help. Plan on doing the install this friday and wanted to make sure i buy the right tape for it.

Also is there a specific one to use for Cars or any outdoor mounting one will work? I can't seem to find the 3M Outdoor mounting tapes anywhere @ HomeDepot/CT/Walmart unless I just was looking for the wrong ones.

thanks

So this one is fine even with the extra heat from the ballast and body of the car? I dont need to do any thermal pasting and the such? (Car IS parked outside day and night).

So is mine. I've had to replace it in some spots over time but that was after about 2-3 years.....

Similar topic, my dads cx-9 has these headlight enclosures that fit the whole HID kit inside. Is this a bad idea to put it inside?

I would say it's probably not the best as the aftermarket kits aren't as reliable as say OEM so you may be changing components earlier than you think. I'm not familiar with the design of the CX-9 so I can't say for sure.

Should probably start another topic cuz the title is misleading, however:
I'm not sure where everyone mounts their Ballast on 2011/2010 but here's where i've got them now. Hopefully this works and I dont have to redo it, cuz that would be a pain :[

I should have probably mounted the left side the way I did ot on the right, but For some reason i couldnt turn my hand that way.

Also are the ballasts supposed to hum?

And for those who say "pics or it didnt happen"
