So I won a Kenwood deck recently at the BubbaQ (still waiitng to get it from Auto-Links) and was wondering if its possible to still use the stock screen with the deck installed. I've looked around and apparently the screen can be removed from the stock unit and put back in with the new doubledin. Reason I'm asking is the screen is used to display the trip computer, fan level, fan setting, and the temperature. I'm pretty sure this can't be displayed on the Kenwood so I'm wondering if I will lose this functionality once I put it in. Anyone know?

Since you have 2008 you can keep your LCD screen.

Temperature will always be their. If you want the left side of screen to work you must set it at what function you want and do not unplug the LCD screen when replacing deck...

Theirs so many threads about this topic which will give you all the info you need

also on another note...how easy is it to install this? I've seen a video on how to remove the stock HU and it seems pretty straightforward but would the stock wiring work on this unit or does it need to be rewired with whats included?

I added comment. If you unhook the battery or lose power for some reason that left information will disappear and you will have to reconnect the stock deck briefly to make it come back.

I'll send you a PM, I'm going to need some part numbers and some more info.

We can definitely do the job for you though.

And I love getting club members in the shop so we can chat while the work is being done.
