Technically, any non stock HID system is illegal cause you're tampering with the original headlights. But if you stay in the range from 5000k to 8000k you will be fine. the cops will only bother you if you have really bright colours like pink or green.

If your car didnt come with fog lights then you'll have to go buy a new blinker stalk from a dealer to get them to work with the stock wiring. the wiring is there but no switch. or you can buy a kit and it will come with a switch (put in the blank switch spots to the left of the steering) and the wiring for it, including a relay for it. i would recommend putting a relay but its not necessary.

My car that im getting does have fogs ? does that mean there will be a switch to turn them on and off ? on a 2005 what does it use for DTRs? low beam high beam or fogs?

if it does come with them, as long as they werent added after it will be in the stalk that the flasher is on (see pic)

05 uses low beams as DRL.

Start your car with your headlights off and then turn them on.

This thread feels like I'm reading a FAQ threat lol...

Also I'd recommend relaying for any lighting source (except internal LEDs really..) as you don't want voltage going right from the battery/fuse box (depending how properly its wired up), straight through a switch. You'll burn out the switch.
