Hi,

I own a 2010 Mazda 3 sedan and just today noticed small bubbles on the hood of the black Mazda 3. I notice that when I try to rub them off with my fingers they are not rubbing off black but rather clear. The clear syrup like stuff sticks to my fingers and is very hard to remove. Since they are not rubbing off in black does that mean it is not my paint but instead maybe a max I may have used? Can the high temperatures we have been having in Southern Ontario be the cause of it?

I tried to give it a nice car wash but they are still on the hood.

Please help!!!!

Could it be tree sap?

I don't know... I was actually out of the country for about a month and my sister was driving it. I got back yesterday and just noticed it, I will ask her where she parked.

Any chance you know how to remove it if it is in fact sap?

Okay, just asked my sister and no she did not park under or near a tree. She works at the hospital and always parked in the garage there.

Sounds like tree sap. Try using some running alcohol on a cloth. Did the trick for me as suggested by a detailer.

Sorry for the repeated posts....I cant find the edit function.

The last post with the link on it is not my car but that's exactly the color of my car and it does not have as many bubbles on it.

+1 rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer or
Wash then claybar and use some warm water with ONR as the lubricant. Rinse, dry and finally seal and/or wax.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Thank you everyone for the help and suggestions. I bought some rubbing alcohol and the bubbles did come off easily and the paint is perfectly fine! I am still not certain whether it was sap or something else but it's off now :)

Thank You

Ahh, hopefully this one and only time I use rubbing alcohol won't effect my paint job. I will get her washed and waxed tommorow to get the residue off.

Thanks for the heads up!

No problem. Just wash and wax/seal it soon. In order to protect the paint. :)
