While looking for feedback on various dealers ( and now ready to post some) I had iniitially missed a whole whack of dealer feedback as I didnt realize there were two different areas:

Dealer Experiences (here in the main General Section)
Affiliate Dealerships way down under Marketplace - easily missed)

I realize one is for "any dealer" feedback and one is for "affilliated dealers", but a lot of the feedback for the affiliated dealers is in both!

Could these not be combined into a single area? .. ie one called Dealer Experience and Affiliations, below which there would be sub-forums for each affiilate dealer, and one at the bottom for Other Dealers. In that way, all dealer feedback is in one structured area.

dealer experience is for TM3ers to post experience with the said serviced dealers. affiliations if for the dealer sponsors to post there seperate sales and services and promos available to TM3ers, so it wouldnt make sense to combine them as it would make the threads look like a mish mash and not seperate the dealers and there seperate locations services or sales.

Well that may have been the originl intent, but the affialtion area is open of all members, and much user feedback on dealer experienceis posted there by members. As well, when there are questions about dealer experiences, users are often referred to the affiliations area !

So its pretty much a mish-mash right now.

I think this should be thought through a bit more, with the aim that user experience with dealers can be captured in one area.

(Also suggest that the Dealer experience area have sub forums - one per dealer....)

well the affiliation will not be moved as the dealers and sponsors pay to be so and support TM3 in that way so due to that they are given there own section to do what they will with, it would only make sense to remove dealer experience and have TM3 posters put there experience into the seperate dealer groups and merge it that way. i talked about this with Ami (S.F.W) last year and nothing came about then as due to the nature and ammount of content in the dealer experience it would take some serious time to move all to the seperate sections. also how many seperate threads there are for each dealer going back 25 + pages or so. would take alot of time to review.

If there was a real need for it (which I'm not saying there is or isnt) there could always be some volunteers for this. Give the volunteers a set of stickers or something for their work if need be to clear up the forums and organize it a bit.

i dont know if free stuff or time is the issue as much as the ability to move and change posts may be better left to the mods if they decide to do so. but pm ami and he can discuss it with you.

Oh I was just throwing out ideas. I've had my share of forum moderation and it's not in the least bit fun.

I really don’t think its that much work (and it's certainly not about freebies - it's about making it easier to leave and read feedback) . Perhaps I am oversimplifying, but:

Step 1- Create dealer subforums under Dealer Experience , specifically

1. Airport Mazda
2. Agincourt Mazda
3. Avante Mazda
4. Direct , Select & Mountain Mazda
5. Erin Mills Mazda
6. Forbes Mazda
7. Maple Mazda
8. Mazda of Toronto
9. Prima Mazda
10. Whitby Mazda
11. Yorkdale Dufferin Mazda
Other Dealers

Step 2 – move the (obvious) feedback threads from Affiliates to Dealer Experience. I identified the obvious ones below.

Step 3 – Over time start moving ( drag and drop) the posts within Dealer Experience into their correct sub-forum.

Thanks

MM.
