I had angel eyes put in a couple months ago, by McGuyver, was good for a month or so then started getting condensation on the inside of the housing when I wash the car. I was hoping to see if McGuyver would cover it or help me out in some way cause really it didnt last that long before issues, and to be honest my experience with his work was frustrating (I'm sure he'd agree). But now I've tried contacting via pm and he appear to be gone again with no reply and as per a post in his section from late June stating the same. So where else is there I could get my headlights resealed?

if i had time I would do it for you...
I have to re-bake one of my headlights because the glue that my dad purported as super glue was crap and my angel eye is falling off lol
but on the one that isnt retarded, I used bathroom silicone in a caulking gun (cuz i had it around) and it has never had condensation...so maybe you can try that?

How many people are interested in that product? Maybe it would be worth while to order some to the states and have someone go down and pick it up, and then every chips a few bucks for gas?

Might be cheaper to ship to Canada than do that though. But I'd be down for purchasing some.

If it's more than $7 for shipping and there's several people interested, it could be cheaper to go down there.

how positive are you that its the seals are bad now... i use to get condensation in my headlights wen i wash my car. its normal. it dries up to nothing and doesnt leave any residue. its very strange that the seals are new and after a couple of months, start to leak. try and remove a the light bulbs and leave the car in the sun. that should do the trick

Actually that's not strange at all. And if yours gets condensation it means there's a leak.
Just because they are newly sealed, doesn't mean they sealed properly, or fully. Even brand new lights from the dealership sometimes get condensation.

true, but i this might be one of the couples that mcguyver has done that has a leak. heard he does a great job. usually when its really hot out, and you cool the headlight real quick. itll cool the air inside enough where itll shirnk and draw in the moist air around the assembly. then it gets warm again and repeat. untill theres a considerable amount of moisture inside. i had this happen and pulled out both lights, and let it sit in the sun for a day. and bam, all dry. then i accidentally broke a bulb and thats wen i jumped at that hid special kelvin had LOL

Mitchell, I don't think it necessarily means there's a leak. There's not an air-tight seal behind the bulbs and it's probably more than possible on really hot days for moisture to be drawn inside. If you're certain there's a leak in the seal, I would go to Home Depot and buy a tube of Silicone III (plumbing aisle) and go over the seals again from the outside.

It's possible to condensation in there if the bulbs aren't seated properly.
Also, clear silicone from Ho Depot around the edges is all you need to seal the unit

#1 Think I would recommend is to make sure the rubber on your light bulbs is still in one piece.
If that doesn't work, take out your lights and place some black or invisible silicone around the seals.
If that still doesn't work, give me a shout and we can have some fun with your lights.

Also,
This is not normal. You need some sealing done.

this is normal, i dont need any sealing job. it never has any problems with rain or direct water leaking in. its the hot and cold thats usually the culprit. we can induce it in your head lights too wen its really hot and suddenly cooling it over and over (like a car wash by hand). head lights have vents, these vents are there for this purpose. if you look at the back, your will see a small 90' bent rubber hose. and if you pull that off its a screen to let vapors out, and keep water from going in. somewhat like the fabric used to make windbreakers. the fogs have this too.
however, if its a pretty bad leak and you got water pooling very often. its a busted seal. if anyone has this, contact hyperion

Light condensation is considered normal according to Mazda Canada (I just had my lenses replaced under warranty for a leak, I had very heavy condensation in mine). The lenses are vented as silverstarmazda said, this is done to prevent excessive condensation build-up.
However, if there is excessive and/or constant condensation inside the lens, it is a problem.
Condensation such as this is NOT GOOD, nor acceptable lol:

I pulled the DRL's out of mine once too and let it sit in the sun and it did seem to help a lot. But I was getting heavy condensation coming and going on a daily basis, it just wasn't right.
If its only happend every so often and it goes away completely (sometimes it would sit in there for days on mine) I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if you're getting it almost daily then I'd start to worry. Or if you get it every time it rains or you wash your car, it could be an issue. My right lens eventually started to have water leak in and sit in the bottom of the housing.

I have butyl, tape form ( 1/8x3/8, with and without rubber shim) and in tube caulk form.

And this is the shim( useless for what you need it for I think. )

I can find out all the sizes I can get if your interested.

i can get it from 1\4-3\8 of the round stuff aparantly.
and can even beat 22 bucks, probably in and around 15 a roll. maybe even 10 depending on the amount
if there is enough intrest i can set something up. although i would need all one size, probably 1\4".

You can definitely get butyl from certain dealerships.
IIRC, when I was looking for it a few years ago, most Nissan dealerships would sell to you for under $30--enough to seal two full large housings + a bit left over.
And if you're out in Milton, my retrofitter always has some on hand.

So I guess the one w/o the shim is what we need. I'd be interested if the price is decent. Maybe there would be others that would be interested too.

No. I actually found the round stuff in 3 different sizes.
If there is interest I think I can start a GB( if im allowed) I'd obviously have to cover my costs as I can only get packs of 12 ( but id be buying 2 rolls) This would not be shipped from the states so unless a meet up cannot be arranged there would be no shipping cost.
If I were to to get 10 people ( or 10 rolls) it would be around 10-15 bucks a roll. If someone wants 12 rolls that can be arranged as well.
Id have to have multiples of 10. So either 10 people, 2 people who want 5 rolls. Or 1 prison who wants 10. Ect. Ect.
Either way your looking 1/2 price per roll at minimum.
Btw. If there are people who what multiple cases of 12 that can be arranged as well.

3 different sizes....hmm I wonder what size we would need.
You could set up a GI to see what interest there is OR st up a GB right off the bat. Cover your cost and how you want payment to be done ie: Paypal, EMT, etc.

Will do, as soon as someone can confirm what width we would need, i dont want to get the wrong size.

Butyl tape is very pliable and can be cut in half, stretched, doubled, etc
Picture it like strips of play-doh
