Just wanted to say my wife and I had a great experience with Majid at Direct Mazda! We walked in for a Speed3 for me and walked out with a CX-5 for the wife as well. Both cars were pretty clean (I'm picky) and he spent a good amount of time showing us around the cars before we left. The price was great and great value on our trade too!

Would like to comment on this as well...just got back a couple of hours ago signed my deal for my Mazda3 with Majid as well...professional guy, straight up, honest, and genuine. Spent loads of time with us to explain everything. He has earned a lifetime customer. I definitely recommend him and I've dealt with over 20+ dealerships.

Probably should have keep on top of this post....... I will never go back to Direct Mazda...... the good service ends when you drive away in your new car!

Please do tell more. In fact, you can help a lot of members in this forum if you write a review as a way of informing potential buyers.

Why are they closing down?

Maybe because their service department blows

I was just in for an oil change and spoke with the service dept (can't recall the guys name at the moment).

Direct won't be closing down, but they will be changing to a Nissan dealership. They will still be servicing mazdas, have mazda parts in stock, and will continue to offer the 15% discount on parts to TM3 members.

I've never had anything but a positive experience with their service dept, in fact that's why I went to Direct when I purchased my CX5 because I found the customer service to be great. I'd be interested to hear more about your negative experience though.

Getting back to the OP, congrats on the purchase! I dealt with Majid there as well, he's a nice guy, straightforward, and gave me good value on my trade in. John Alvarez in financing needs a little work on his customer service (took 6+ months, many un-returned phone calls and broken promises to get my grad rebate in order), but all-in-all I was happy with the purchase at Direct.

interesting.. but can a nissan dealer still service all of there old customers mazdas?.. seems a bit confusing on that one, and if they become nissan they wont be able to do any mazda warranty work or repairs..

I think so, what happened to all the old Saturn dealers when it went belly up?
The reason I ask is my mom got one in 08 and still gets it serviced by Budd's.

Maybe Booter you know this as i think i read somewhere you work for Budds Mazda.

well saturn was a dead brand, like pontiac but they went to the "home" manufacture store. but i wouldnt think you would be able to become a nissan dealer and continue as that brand to contact those mazda service customers. i would think they would be directed to the closest dealer by the manufacture and it would be customer choice to have the vehicle serviced at that location.

however for warranty it would be a no. i wouldnt be able to go to another dealer and have them process a claim for warranty on my mazda. but yes i do work for Budds Mazda.

So what happens if I bought a car from those Dead Brands and its still under warranty? I know you may not have this info but putting it out there....

any brand that goes bankrupt still must honour the manufacturer's warranty. So Hummer, Saab, Saturn... they are still serviced by GM for as long as the warranty is.

When I went in for my 1st oil change, I brought my own ams oil 5w30 and they came back and told me I couldn't use it and that all 2012 Mazda's used 0w20..... after showing them my owners manual stating 5w30 and oil cap showing 5w30 they told me they were unsure and don't work on many Speed3's. I asked for my car to be left alone and ended up going to Maple Mazda.

Eeks I'm waiting for my letter from school to submit to John so I hope I don't have to wait that long either for my grad rebate to be processed

Well, Mazda Canada sent me an email directing us to use 4 other local Mazda dealers (401 Dixie Mazda, Erin Mills Mazda, Mazda of Brampton, Achilles Mazda of Milton)
because Direct Mazda, where we bought the car, has now become a Nissan dealership. (Along with a coupon good for a FREE 8000km service).

Unfortunately, at least 2 of their recommended Mazda dealers are part of the Dilawri group where I will NEVER go.

Budds, where I have gone, was not on their suggested list of alternate dealerships...even though they are closer to us than some of the suggested dealers... go figure...

I got the same letter too with the free service...just out of curiosity why won't you go to those dealerships owned by the Dilawri group? (and which ones are they?) I need to find a dealership to get my car serviced now that Direct changed over and I just bought it from there before they changed

401 Dixie and Erin Mills are Dilwari. They have a reputation for not being the greatest for customer service but i cannot confirm this personally

I can't speak for 401/Dixie, but Erin Mills is really changing. Look at the latest review, they really are going the extra mile.

Got the same email a few weeks back. I always had a fairly positive experience with the Direct service dept, so it's disappointing to have to look elsewhere now. I'm considering Erin Mills, based on the fact they are a sponsor here and as Ami said the recent reviews have been positive. My coworker takes her 3 into 401/Dixie, but her experiences with them have not sounded all that positive. Brampton and Milton are a bit far to travel for regular service, I liked Direct because they were close to my office at Hurontario/Britannia.

Another note about Erin Mills - Tiffany is now the service manager, and has always been great with customer service.
