Hey all!
OK, so I have the 4 speaker 2010 GX model, and I actually DO like the sound the comes from the stock system. It ain't bad! I also actually like the look of the stock Deck. The orange and the blue, which pulsates when you change volume. Looks slick.
I want to add tweeters to it and new speakers, just because, but I DON'T want to wire a sub on this one. I have two 10"s and an amp and all the wiring, but I'm going to sell it - I need my trunk space.
I currently have:
* My old Deck, a Pioneer 7900 BT (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-P7900BT)
* The Tweeters from an Alpine SPR 17S component set (http://www.crutchfield.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=500SPR17S)
Long story, but the actual woofers are still in my old traded in car. Didn't have the time to switch em out, although I took my tweeters back and replaced the A-pillar trim that I cut holes into.
In terms of the best speakers for this, what would you guys recommend? I really like the stock 'punchy' sound, esp since now I won't have a ridiculously powered sub woofer like in my old car. The Alpines were great, but at 87 decibels, aren't as 'punchy' methinks. What would you guys recommend to put in there? (Looking to replace just the fronts for now).
Also, the deck... what would be a good modern equilavent to it? I just really like the Bluetooth, and the 7 band Graphic EQ with the low/highpass filters. Really let me tune it juuuuust right.
Thanks guys! :D
