For a 2008 Mazda 3 2.0 Auto

Budds MAZDA = $385.00 taxes in

Airport Mazda = $288.15 taxes in

Enough said.

Been a customer with Budds for the longest time, but I just cannot put up with the fact that they don't value the club no longer.

Don't want this to turn into a shouting match, lock if you wish, but I had to get that out :)

Why go to a dealership? Your warranty will end before your next oil change when you do this service, if I were you I'd be looking into some good shops in your area.

+1 especially if warranty is up, screw dealerships!!

Highline Motors has the 48,000km service for less than half that price. I'm sure they could add in whatever extra they do at the 96,000km service and it would still be much cheaper.

I'm still in warranty, I have extended as well.

Prefer to stick to dealerships until warranty is fully up, just in case.

Jimmy can do your 96K service for you. Just make sure to ask him for a receipt. He did my 96 and 120.

I don't think he started this thread for people to tell him not to go to dealer...i think he started it to show everyone that Budds prices are not better like they said when they dropped TM3..their more money...

I could be wrong but thats what i got from this thread

That's fine, but he can save even more money by not going to a dealer.

Depends where you live ;) The dealership that sponsors OMC has a decent discount compared to a lot of other shops in town. There may be some shops that offer a lower price but honestly, I'll pay a bit extra anyway to go to a dealership that has been loyal to us as customers and have taken great care of our cars and the modifications we put time into over a shop *might* do a thorough job. Never know until you try though I guess! haha

Yeah, but we don't have any of those kinds of dealerships here in the GTA. All we have is Jimmy. lol

You'll all just have to move closer to Ottawa then. Problem solved :chuckle

If I'm not mistaken, the 96,000km service calls for an extra coolant flush and replacing the spark plugs on top of oil change, brake service and tire rotation and inspection.

I thought the coolant didn't have to be replaced until 192,000km. And spark plugs at 160,000km. I could be wrong, I don't have the owners manual on me. I would think the transmission fluid would be due for a change too around that mileage.

Transmission fluid gets dirty at around 50,000km. I remember being given a lot of coolant flush jobs and spark plugs replacement jobs at around 100,000 km at Agincourt.

Mazda 3 Maintenance Schedule (http://www.mazda.ca/MciWeb/pdf/parts/en/Mazda3Maintenance.pdf)

This says to replace the coolant at 96,000km but the fine print says if the coolant is FL22 (which I believe it is in the MZ3) then it should only be flushed at 192,000km. And it says replace spark plugs at 120,000km but the fine print says that varies based on driving conditions.

And yeah, the transmission fluid should probably be changed for the 2nd time at 96,000km.

Yeah man, even if they value the club....it's not always fair pricing.

I asked for installation of a set of springs on my Skyactiv at the dealership in my area - I live in Newmarket btw (u guys figure that out) - and I was quoted for the springs alone $800.00 but the guy offered to make me a deal $600.00.

For a set of springs really :bang, I know once my warranty is done I will not be taking my car there for sure!

Just a thought!

You don't have to take it there during warranty. As long as you keep all the receipts. Seriously, go somewhere else for your oil changes and you'll save a ton of money, but make sure you get a receipt. And if you buy your own oil, make sure you keep the receipt for those too.

You can even do the oil changes yourself as long as you keep your receipts for the oil, filter and gasket. And I was told to mark the date and mileage the oil change was done on your receipt.

if its a 2012 its usually cheaper at the dealer. $28+ HST or so for oil, filter and drain plug gasket. i would bet for 0W20 it costs more just for the oil anywhere else. i know i had a lady tell me at mr.lube she was charged 75+ hst for her 2012. just dont buy as much 0W20 as the dealer yet.

Jimmy will issue a receipt for any work he does. But you will have to pay all applicable fees and taxes.

They offer good service, and the oil changes are reasonable thats why it crossed my mind to ask. Even Alignments are reasonable because they will honour TM3 pricing +-$80.

I've had Jimmy install a lot of stuff on my cars over the years and on all 3 prior Mazdas and 1 BMW combined have never been that much for a set of springs.
