i already have a sub ill be using.

Im just working on collecting the rest of the install pieces while i debate about an HU.

Anyways id just like to confirm what i wil need for install, and wether an install kit make a difference ( brand name), or if i should just buy loose wire.

Im thinking loose wire so here it goes

15ish feet of 4 gauge power wire w/ inline fuse ( what amperage)
6ish feet of 4 gauge ground wire ( different colour then power)
2 distribution blocks ( 1 power, 1 ground)
30 ft(?) 16 guage speaker wire
suitable connectors ( battery terminal ect, last purchase before install)

if i get to antsy before getting a deck i will also need 2 LOCs.

I went to active surplus today and priced out indivdual pieces and total came to around 40 bucks for all the wire and connectors. So again does brand of the wire matter, and am i missing something.

Im sure i will come up with more questions as time gets closer and people respond.

Thanks alot.

Already skimmed through and saved to my favorite. I'll be making sure to read thoroughly before going any further.

This is a DIY for sure.

when buying an amp kit the brand kind of matters, in the sense that say a non name brand that advertises 4g wire kit wont have as much copper wire in it as you think, the rubberish coating will make it look like a real 4g wire but when you look at the end, you'll actually only have 8g of actual wire. so just keep that in mind. you can pick up a full 4g amp kit with everything you need for $100. f.c.t has a good kit you can probably get that at an independent dealer that only does car audio or any future shop kit will be suffice.

Yeah, that is a good thing to keep in mind when buying amp kits. I bought mine off Jeff at Audio Heaven last year and it's a large name brand, so I know it's going to be quality product. Otherwise Jeff's got some esplainin' to do! :chuckle
