I have the following components to install in my 2012 Mazda 3 Sport GX:

JL Audio Cleansweep

Alpine PDX 4x100 Amp
JL Audio C2-650 Components 6.5"
JL Audio C2-570x Coaxial 5x7"

I have everything installed and mounted.

-Power wire run through behind battery into firewall through clutch. Power wire goes around driver seat to under passenger seat.
-I mounted the amp to the bottom of the passenger seat with a metal bracket I fabricated. Amp is grounded to seat bracket (grinded off to get bare metal).
-16 awg speaker wire ran through each door molex and to amp
-JL Audio Cleansweep mounted on top of glove box under dash

Now I am having some problems getting this to work. I cannot find a stereo harness wiring diagram anywhere. I have read through "zoomahh"'s install thread to get some info.

The JL audio Cleansweep has a power harness that is the following:

“+12 V”: Constant +12V ------ ??? Red (Above "G" @ 1O)
“GND”: Chassis Ground --------Black Ground Wire
“IGN”: Switched +12V ---------"1R" SB Sky Blue Wire
“REM.OUT”: Amplifier turn-on (+12V) -------to amp rem. in

This was my interpretation and how I wired it. All the speaker outputs from the harness were wired to the Cleansweep without issue.

Cleansweep manual http://content.abt.com/documents/8550/cl441dsp_owners_manual.pdf

Borrowed from Zoomahh's thread I found the wiring diagram however is doesn't state what wire is what.

Now for some reason the JL Audio Cleansweep and the amp will not turn on.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are wiring the clean sweep wires behind your deck. I assume your car is a 2011 as those are the schematics you pulled.

So you 12v constant attach to brown.
Ground - black (or any bare piece of metal)
IGN - light blue.
REM out goes to your amps remote input.

This are the wires off the radio harness.

Now if you don't want to pull your deck apart you can find all the wires in the ignition harness also, which is below the steering wheel column. You'll need a test light or meter to measure the voltage but.

Constant - Orange
IGN - Blue aka Accessory
Ground - add a ground eye lid and ground to any piece of bare metal,

then run the REM out again to the amps remote input.

hope this helps.

If you have everything hooked up like that, grab a multi-meter and and test to make sure there's enough voltage going to each. Make sure your ground is good. if thats all good, go to your amp and measure to see if its gets power, then check the ground, next check to see if the Remote wire is getting voltage when the car is turning on.

12v constant is brown? Perfect that's what my problem is. I assumed it was red as it is usually the standard.

Ya I have taken out the deck and wired the wiring harness but I think I just had that wire mixed up. I will check tomorrow and see.

Thanks

Problem Solved!

1. 12v constant worked with the brown wire - my JL Audio Cleansweep was able to turn on

But then my amp still wouldn't turn on....so

2. Fuses in my amp were blown. Fuses replaced and problems solved.

Calibrated the Cleansweep and tunes the amp. The audio sounds fantastic. The JL Audio Cleansweep makes it seem as if it is an aftermarket head unit.

Thanks for the help!

However I ordered the Eonon D5115Z so I will no longer need the JL Audio Cleansweep. It is up for sale if anyone is looking for a better alternative to a Line Output Converter for the stock head unit.

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-JL-Audio-Cleansweep-CL441dsp-and-CL-SSI-W0QQAdIdZ410099412

I don't have enough posts to post it for sale in the for sale section.

$220 Obo including the CL441dsp and CL-SSI
