I just got a 2012 non Bose Mazda 3.
I was wondering if anybody had changed there head unit and what it looks like.
I know there is a company that makes a 2din head unit made to fit exactly in the3 but it is made in china crap.
I am looking at the pioneer Avic x940bt it is beast head unit. The only thing I am afraid of having gaps and it looking like crap. And I have yet to see what the fitting looks like installed.
If anybody could post a pic of a 2din touch screen installed and maybe a where they got it done it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

the best kit you can get is the Metra brand one and alot of people have gone with it. The fit is relatively solid and was very easy to install. I had bought another cheap knock-off from ebay and it felt very cheap and the fitment was terrible as well.

I have a 2gen... But I was more wondering if the fitting matches the interior properly and if there are any gaps

I actually have a second gen should have specified. Are you talking about the fitting ?
Because I had seen a hu made specifically for the 2gen but I dont trust the made in china crap.
If u r talking the fitting. No gaps ? And the color matches well ?

yeah, they do have a kit for the 2nd gens as well and i'm sure it is just as good as the one for the 1st gens. The fit is good although the cover that Kenwood provides isnt too good so it seems to be a little loose on the bottom. Overall, the kit is a solid fit and is made with durable thick plastic and it snaps right in with no gaps. It comes with everything you need.

Most people I've talked to actually prefer the Scorsche kit.

I can't remember what I payed off the top of my head, but i did research all of our Sponsors and some local shops.
Lockdown was ~half the price of their competitors, when it came to the hardware i needed.

I have the Z130BT with the Metra dash kit. Added the MetraAxxess module for my steering wheel controls and added the XM radio add on along with the bluetooth and Nav.
