Whitby Mazda: Buying experience

Zero pressure first meeting with the salesman last night at Whitby. Really nice guy, Nathan. Went to Maple Mazda today after work to negotiate out maybe a better price compared to last nights. Got the price down to 23,000 flat all in for the car after 2 and a half hour of back and forth. Called Nathan to tell him the price and he matched it for me on the spot, but beat the price I was being offered for my extras. I put him in a bit of a tough position I think with the time of my call to him, but he went to bat for me and came though. Not sure if the amount of work he did for me will pay off in regards to his commission, but he has given Mazda a dedicated customer for his hard work and due diligence.

I wasn't able to get the colour I had originally been hoping for, the sky blue mica 41B, but at the price I got the car, I was willing to sacrifice the colour in the end and went with black, with alternate choices of graphite and silver. I will be picking up my Mazda3 SkyActiv GS in a few days!

So pumped to be a part of the family!

I did go to Ajax initially, just as a launch point for my car shopping comparison. I was in and out of there in half an hour including the test drive. The gentleman I dealt with was WAY too pushy and kept touching me on the shoulder and it made me uncomfortable. I understand it's their job to sell cars, but everyone I dealt with in Whitby was so relaxed and casual, but still very professional. I felt like I was a friend rather than another statistic being rushed out of money.

Whitby even upsold me to the SkyActive GS, over the GS w/ AC that I originally was going to get, and I'm confident in my purchase.

Nathan said that so long as everything goes smoothly, it should be Monday. I would kill to get it sooner, say Saturday, but I understand you guys have other things to get done first. Looking forward to it!

Hey, thanks. My GMail just got slammed with inbox limit notifications. I was going to figure out who to talk to about that. I appreciate you being so on top of this! I can see I'm going to love visiting these forums.
