Anyone noticing that the tires are seriously loud? I cant get over the fact that the tires create SO much road noise... In the next few weeks, im going to be looking at some all seasons good enough for MB winters anyways...

I contacted the dealer , and Mazda Canada. To my surprise, they use the same tires i have in Cali. How the hell can they justify that in such extreme weather conditions.

Post your thoughts on the stock tires. I'm looking to get more feedback for when i contact my local dealer about it.

Thanks,
Dan

Will this be your first Canadian winter? If so, you should seriously consider dedicated winter tires. "All season" tires will not cut it in serious snow.
My OEM tires were really loud as well... Or so I thought til I bought Falkens

+1 to sawatsky's comment.

The stock tires are a bit loud and useless during the winter season IMO. I would definitely invest in winter tires for the up coming season.

I love the Falken hum. Keeps me awake during late night excursions. ;)

I laughed pretty hard at first canadian winter.

Ive been in Winnipeg since ive been born. Ive experenced the flood of 97 first handed. Every car ive had, used Motomasters. Ive NEVER been stuck in my life. Never had to call a tow truck. These tires are just BRUTAL.

Im looking into some Champiro's for Winter, and getting aftermarkets for next summer. As for winter driving though, these are pretty much the worst tires i've ever had in my life.

hey bro.. never say never :chuckle knock on wood. and yea.. motomasters.. used to work at 3 different canadian tires... the cheaper tire to a big branded tire ( should hope there decent) :P not like those no name tires.... but that said i found my stock toyos on the 16" rims were meh. dont remember them being super loud. i remember they sucked in rain. but my potenzas that everyone says are so loud i had on my last car and they were so quiet and ran awesome in a bit of the snow even though they got changed for winter. now on mine and the gfs we also have winters but both have 17" rims with potenzas, and my buddys rx7 has potenzas. dont find them loud. toyo.. i find louder.. but i did once have motomaster se's they did the job, also have a decent warranty you can buy from canadian tire back then. i do always find the new tires that come on a vehicle usually are not up to par with what can be purchased after, and they dont last near as long.

I don't think winter performance is very high on the priority list when it comes to designing OEM tires. No "all season" is going to be as good as a winter tire for the winter. If you want good winter performance just get a winter tire, even cheap ones.

But yes they are louder than many tires out there. I'm assuming you're talking about the Yokohama's, not the Bridgestone's. Still, I'd take these over the Goodyear Eagle RS-A's they used to put on the GT's. Those were complete crap. The Yokohama's might be louder but they have better grip and much better tread wear.

Interesting you say that. I had my motomasters on 4 cars (yes... 4 lol) and they never leaked, they never wore down past 50% (about 5 years of use). They always got me out, and to be honest, i pulled my dad (94 astro) out of the snow with my 90 accord. They were always better then the stock tires i had on the cars (granted, they were always replaced at least twice before i got the car.... )

And sorry, ive got the factory Bridgestones. Absolute shit.

Interesting... for me, my OEM tires are Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (89V)

it's only been a week so I don't know how (good/not good) they are but reviews on the web are half decent.
