Congrats! But i like the first gen better....and upgrading from a first gen speed to a 2nd gen isnt really an upgrade....but thats just me....just my .02

Of course it is. The best part about it is that he can just swap SRI/TIP/AP/BPV right off his old car.

Looks pretty awesome!!! really like the look of the navigation... i wish the 1st gens came with a factory navigation that wasnt just some small popup screen :(

Took out most of the mods at jimmys the other day and will be re-installing after break in. Car feels slower then my last speed for some reason....

The Gen2s are more refined, and by extension less raw than their predecessors. I'm sure you will get used to it over time.

I really want to see more pictures of the car (particularly the rims) & of the deck functioning. How does it look with three screens going at once?

Could be buyers remorse, could be brand new requires break in, or the mods made the difference.

Also I believe the Gen 2's have slightly taller gearing, if you're sensitive to that sort of thing, you'd notice.

Im not sure what prior upgrades you had on old car, but before slapping things on are you going to consider upgrading Hpfp internals? Some Gen 2's run into FP issues with simple intakes, the Ecu logic is different than Gen 1's.

Regardless, nice upgrade!

I will snap more pics tomorrow. Its kinda weird having to look at 3 screens for differernt info. One is for your HVAC settings, the other is used for car info. such as gas usage, avg. speed and so on ( this is where the old nav use to be ) and then you have your nav screen which controls everything else. The nav screen itself is still abit small for my liking.

Nothing to do with it being a Gen 2, it's because it's CWP.

kind of like the look from the back more then the front...

GV Style grill's look great on Gen2's IMO. Not sure if they fit the 2013's but definately pulls the front end in a cleaner looking direction.

wow the gps interface looks awesome..... much better than the aftermarket ones..... is the touch screen capacitive ( sensitive to the touch) or resistive ( you have to press hard)????

but damn... thats alot of displays....bit to distracting much???

and easy to upgrade not unlike the vehicles with out. just pull out the sd card and plug in home computer and follow the directions and free updates

So I stopped Brampton Mazda on my way home one day last week, they had 2 CWP Speeds there, you only get the screen with the tech package, it makes me feel better about my 2012!

OP, have they done anything better with the Bluetooth and dialing?

With the previous versions, you could not really just access your phone book from the phone and dial and entry like the Ford Sync. You had to define entries in the Head Unit itself and it was simply using BT to dial your phone.

I'm not too sure how the old system worked, but the new unit now downloads your phone book and stores it. Once BT is active you can call from the phone book. You can also download text msgs. that you receive and have the car read it back to you. From there you have the option to call back the person. I haven't used the voice commands yet, but I think you can call up ur phone book and dial a call with voice commands. Also you can stream music from your phone to the head unit via BT and have control of music selections from the head unit.
