View Full Version : Stock Cd Player not releasing the CD

Hey guys,
My stock radio 6 disc changer in my 2004Mz3 is not releasing the cd i have inside. Its making the sound like it wants to release it but nothing is coming out and I am sure there is a Cd inside. Its not allowing me to load any new dics as well. The controls for the radio, that is located on my steering wheel is also malfunctioning.

What are my options? Do I need to replace the whole deck? and if so where can I locate one? Or can it be repaired? Helpppp

you can get one from the dealer as far as a new unit it works on an exchange so you pay for the new one and they send yours back. i believe depending on the unit can be in the $250 ish range or so but best would be to call your local dealer and ask them about the radio unit exchange / install cost. other then that you could look to an aftermarket radio unit.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery? I have a 2001 protege with a single disc cd player. Apparently, it (and some other years/models) has an issue where if you insert a cd while turning the ignition, the player gets confused about the state of the cd. Turning off the car or stereo doesn't help. However, completely disconnecting the power from the unit (either by removing the unit and reconnecting it or just briefly disconnecting the battery) solves that particular problem. I ran into this once, and this solved the issue for me.

I don't know if this is the same issue that you're having, but it might be worth a shot.

is it for the same model, i have a 1.6 mzd3 2004 its from signapour. If its compatible i would be interested. in it.

i tried that, and it gave me back my cd, very very very slowly. i had to take a tweesers and kinda pull it out half way apparently, it looks as if the sucks ion mechanism is malfunctioning because its not taking in any cds. Its making a clickn sound but not pulling in the cd and i'm scared to jus shove it in there.

Should be, but would be expensive to ship to Singapore.

most likely the radio will not work as the radio reception frequencies are different
