I can't wait until someone comes out with a mounting option for the iPad mini for the 3... something like this:
http://www.eonon.com/Specific-Models-and-Kits/Kits-and-Harness/A0508.html

It'd be good for nav, music and bluetooth diagnostics real-time. Hopefully there's an adapter for steering wheel controls though. Something that would slide in and out from the top would be good too so you don't have to permanently fix it in.

Post up some links if you see any around!

Search loosecannon's thread. He's got something similar in mind. Somewhere, somehow, this will eventually happen. Neat idea instead of the typical double DIN decks that only plays music (ok, maybe videos, GPS as well).

This is my plan should have it done by the second week of November.

The only way to get this to work right now will be if you install a scd deck somewhere else in the car and connect the iPad mini to it via USB for charging and audio play back. Steering wheel controls will work then, the only thing that won't is bluetooth on your phone unless the deck you buy has BT and you just change inputs when you receive a call.

Have been seeing a ton of custom installs of the ipad mini on the web, mostly from shops in the US. Anyone know of any local shops that can create custom dash kits for the ipad mini to give that oem look? Tried a few sponsors on here but neither of them do custom dash kits.

Have done a few full size iPad installs and have 2 or 3 iPad mini installs to do in the next month or so. There's quite a bit more involved than just a bracket.

Pricing varies and for anyone interested, it is better to make an appointment to come by and discuss, there's too much to discuss for PMs
