My New Rims on a sp20 Skyactiv

Hi All...
I just put new Rims on my car...17x8 Stock height 40 offset TSW Vortex Rims 225 45 17 tyres...they sit ok...the rear sits flush just but the front sticks out a tad...I wish it was flush but hey what do I do...no rubbing whatsoever even on full lock...and I don't think any damage would occur to my suspension components? anyone? ie cause of the 17x8 wide wheel 40 offset...

what does everyone think?

You're at stock height so you're good. If you get Prokits, you should be fine. However, if you get sportlines or coils, you'll rub in the front for sure.

im not lowering it for a while so stock height for a while ...so no issues...i just wish the front tires sat more flush...i wasn't sure that a 45 offset would work so I went 40 cause of the width

When you drop the car you'll get some negative camber in the front that naturally comes with lowering. It will look a lot better then.

guys my new rims are a 40 offset...and I'm thinking the fronts stick out more than I would like....if I machine them to 45...can anyone tell me if a 17x8 with 225 45 17 tires will rub anything?

I don't think you're going to have a problem at all with rubbing even if you lower it, save for coils or sportlines. I'm lowered 1.8 inches in the front with 18x8.75 +35 and I don't rub at all.

I presume you meant out of the fender right? Um it's a very tad bit out in the front but as mentioned previously, when you lower your car, negative camber is introduced so the top of the wheel is essentially flush with the fender.

mate not sure if you know but i live in Australia...I went to a wheel place and they had to import them from the states...there wasn't much here i liked...i like the clean look of 5 spokes...plus they are easier to clean!...I'd love to lower it and i shoulda prolly got 18's....but i just bought her new from the dealer..and i would void warranty of the suspension parts...18's were too expensive...and I needed tyres as well...I just didn't have the cash....
