Hey guys, While I was parked at promenade mall today. I was surprise when I return back and see a scratch in my bumper. Its not really big but I don't really like to see that there is a scratch in the front of my car :bang
I hate stupid drivers who don't know how to properly park or get out of park in parking lots.. :flaming
It's just a small scratch but I can see a black color from it (My car is silver). Is there any way to repair and remove it?. :(

It's hard for anyone to comment without seeing the scratch.... By the sounds of it you will have to get the bumper painted which should cost under $300... Personally I would wait till spring to paint it.

Maybe the black is from the paint from their car, rub it off.

I'd use touch up paint if not leave it.

hehe. sorry for not uploading pics. It's already night and too cold to go outside. But yeah the paint came off and I can see black from the plastic bumper. I was looking around youtube and I found this video which is similar to my case:

I hope this should do the trick.
my car has now a scar on his face~ lol

I always park away from other cars, preferably with no one around me. Most people hate walking so they all crowd together 10 ft away from the entrance to the mall and that's where most accidents happen.

this is why I usually avoid parking near the entrance when I am by myself ( i dont mind the long walk but my parents do).... usually the cars that are parked in the far end of the lot where its practically empty is where all the people who care about their cars park....

I too have a few scratches on my front bumper.... have tried touchup paint just a few hours ago .... waiting for it to dry now...

Also try to stay away from parking near those "shopping cart drop off areas) in walmart since some people arent as careful and if you can , you can try parking at closer end of the lot but not near any entrances.... ( eg. the walmart at Jane & hwy 7 has a section of parking lot directly across from the garden centre that is usually used by employees but I also park there)

First car and first ding?

A car is a depreciating asset. At some point you have to just shung and get on with life. Or you'll end up worrying to no end about things.

I mean you are going to pick up tons of rock chips. And chances are in your lifetime you'll have at least 1 windshield chip. People can and do crash into your car (hopefully while you aren't in it). And you or a passager will at some point do something stupid (hitting the curb, opening door into curbs the list goes on and on). The best way to deal with it is just relax and add a little touch up paint.

As long as it doesn't rust I am happy, that' my philosophy.

you can blame the corrupt drivetest centers for the amount of bad drivers out there...... as for stone chips and all... I used to be all strict about even the smallest ding but now ive managed to deal with it.... its just another aspect of north american car ownership.... ( not sure of how europe has it but I hear they are fewer incidents there because of the stricter license tests)

lol yea that's why i avoid high traffic parking spots, I would park 5 mins -walking distance away.

I like to park really far away. The only time I parked close resulted in a scratch that I'm still trying to fix.

Parking far away not only keeps you in great shape but generally gets you to the door faster. Lazy people just keep on searching and searching and searching. Nothing like peace of mind that my car won't get damaged.

I always park far away from people, That's my dads fault for doing the same when I was a kid, But I guess it was a good thing, his 8 year old car has no major scratches or dents, just stone chips and crap like that. The people that I'm with always bitch when I park far away, ****ing lazy people.

I hate it when people complain about it.... I would like to count the amount of scratches and dings on their car.... especially since I come from a family that loves to buy most of our stuff from Walmart...

There is a lot of intelligence in this quote. I park very far away from my school in the lot because I know that 15minute walk is basically my exercise lol! And the people who race passed me into the lot are still circulating in the front of the lot as I walk passed them
