Wanted your guys opinion,
I have tires that still have good tread, no cracks, but I noticed that they are just over 5yrs of age. I read somewhere that they should be replaced, due to the rubber getting hard and they don't perform well etc.
What's your take on this? Should I replace them?
Thanks

old tires can become dangerous because you need the flex in them. if theyre hard theyll start to crack and will eventually fail. 5 years is nearing the end of its life. 6 years is when you should replace them. check the tires for any cracking. how did you store them?

Thanks for the link. The tires have no cracks and its never been stored. We bought the car used, a year ago the previous owner didn't drive that much. I guess I'll drive through the winter and pick up a set in the spring. Thanks again.

Your fine. It all depends on how the were stored, Sunlight, etc.
I wouldn't hesitate to drive on them longer, at all.
