I have a 2007 Mazda 3. I took it to Yorkdale-Dufferin Mazda at Dufferin and Castlefield to get an oil change because it was convenient to where I was working.

A little background--I'm young (looking) and blonde and yes, my car is an older model. Prime target and definitely someone they thought they could take advantage of.

I get a call about an hour after dropping it off (for a simple oil change), saying that I need SEVEN HUNDRED dollars worth of work done to my car.

I was told I needed a new water pump and belt and that I was leaking coolant. Mind you, it was the middle of the summer and upwards of 30+ degrees practically everyday. My temp gauge had never gone up, my car had never overheated, I knew I wasn't leaking anything. So I told them not to proceed with the repairs, as my spidey sense was peaked. I've owned 6 cars and been driving for almost 15 years--I would KNOW if something was wrong.

I've since taken the car to TWO private mechanics. Both of whom say there is absolutely nothing wrong with my car. Four months later and my water pump and belts are working just fine with absolutely no repairs...

Nice try Y-D Mazda!! Next time, don't assume I'm a stupid damsel in distress. I will NOT be taken advantage of and rest assured, you will NEVER get another dollar from me. Ever.

Yours in true contempt,
The young bitch you thought you could swindle

I truly hate to do this but I have to leave a negative comment regarding Yorkdale-Dufferin Mazda.

I live at Sheppard and Allen road in the new condo developments. I have a parking spot located in the underground. When I pulled in my parking garage at lunch I noticed there were pieces of paper jammed into drivers side door on random vehicles. At the time I did not think much of it. When I pulled in after work I noticed a few more cars were littered with this trash. I then noticed it was only Mazdas that had this information. I park my car and check it out. Some Yorkdale-Dufferin employee somehow got their way into our parking garage and put sales advertisements in the doors of every Mazda vehicle in the building. I give you props for your effort, however this is not permitted in Condos without written permission and approval from the Board of Directors and Property Management. I have lived in many condos and not one has allowed this time of littering of information. If this was attained I will eat my words. If it was not, I have to simply say this is bad business on your part. It is no different than breaking into someones garage who owns a single family home and leaving something on their window.

my two cents.

Yeah you shouldn't go there.

When I bought my car, I asked for a free oil change to sweeten the deal. One of those things that costs them little but helps me.
Anyway, brand new car, brought in for a change. They said I had to pay a $30 surcharge or something for the "free" coupon.

So I ask why? The car literally has 5000km on it, what could possibly be wrong that they have to check for. They proceeded to give a bunch of totally batsh** reasons that borderline insults the intelligence.

Long story short, they literally ONLY changed the oil (probably not even the filter).

I've never been back since. Just stay away.

Speaking of this dealership... I just noticed an ad they put on autotrader for a supposed Speed3, with GT trim, but the photo is of a sedan, GX.

OMGWTFBBQ??

Here's another messed up posting for another "Mazdaspeed 3".
The size of the engines in the ad are off. I have picked up parts from there but if there is someone on the forum from there, please tighten up your ads; you're losing credibility.

Just report the AD's as keyword spamming, they should be removed.

Never gonna happen. Plus lawyer fees wouldn't be worth it.

We totally deny the allegation. It appears to be a case of disgruntled and unhappy employee who doesn't work with us anymore.
