So I started my car up yesterday morning and check engine light is blinking and the AT light is on. Towed the car to the dealer and they are saying that transmission control module is toast. Which is BIG dollars!
Has anyone else had this issue? The car is a '06 Mazda3 hatch with the 2.3 and auto...of course.
thx

i have seen a few replaced on 3s, and proteges. not common but not that it has never happened before.

That's what I thought. I didn't think that I would have to foot the bill for this repair so soon.
Kind of frustrated...

i wouldnt advise to go with a used or junk yard part either.

I agree. Dealer is ordering the part and it will be installed tomorrow. Hopefully no other damage occurred.

I'm pretty sure proteges don't have TCMs ;)

Check scrap yards, coworker had the same problem and he got it cheap. My idea of cheap is 150$ shop around from scrap yard to scrap yard, they are a plug and play deal

Thx. Got the dealer to order and install.
Didn't have time to shop around and find part...it's fixed now.
