Hey guys,

First post, so please excuse the nOObness. I have a 2010 3 GX w/MT (no stability/traction control) and while changing my engine mounts the other day, I noticed a sensor on top of the differential casting (right where the half shafts exit) with nothing plugged into it. Speed, RPM, odo all work just fine. No DTCs past or present. It looks like the speed sensor that everyone posts about, but the connector is straight, rather than 90 degree. I figure that if it's important, I should be getting a CEL.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Could be the sensor for AT but without a pic it would be hard to say.

Are there any metal pins in it? Could be a dummy plug for a sensor that another model uses but your car does not.

Good point, I'll have to check it out in more detail. I've noticed a lot of blank plugs/connectors all over for options. Kudos to mazda for modularity.

What mounts did you change and with what exactly?

All I did was chuck in the Cork Sport Rear mount 2 piece insert. (love it btw...after I trimmed a section off)

Ahh. You said 'mountS' with an s so I thought you were doing them all! :chuckle You are better off with a full RMM replacement from cPE or JBR.

JBR has a black friday weekend sale and you can score 10% off. Check out James Barone Racing on Facebook for more info.
