Had you had the car scanned to see what code it is showing?

Well if its a mazda dealership telling you to change the pump then you might be outta luck. But should you not be under warrenty still seeing that you have a 2010 Mazda 3? How many KM's on your car?

I would bring the car to a Mazda dealership so they can check it over to confirm the issue. Also where are you located?

Ah.. sorry then I can't be much more help. I would say bring it to another shop see what they say. It might just be a sensor because you are saying the steering feels fine.
Just my 2 cents
