Hi, I've recently been having an issue with my 07 GX. It happens randomly. Sometimes when giving the car gas, accelerating and while maintaining speed, it feels as though there is a lag or something. I will be accelerating fine, then it will be as if I let off the gas for a couple seconds (even though I haven't, and I've even given more gas) and then suddenly just catch and get going again. It happens in all gears, and even while driving in 5th. I'll be driving 100, and randomly it will be as if i let off the gas and then re-applied pressure.
I cannot seem to duplicate it, happens pretty randomly. No engine lights or anything.
Car has 83000 km.
Any thoughts on what it could be?
Thanks, Dave

Clutch is not slipping, no specific RPM's, from idle up to shift at 3000 though.

vacuum leak? i dunno, it could be a number of things. best bet is to take it to a well known shop have them take a look at it... the internet has spoken lol

Fair enough, thanks anyways. Bringing it in for an oil change Wednesday so will get them to take a look, just wanted some ideas of what it could be before bringing it.

Could it just be hitting the powerband? Or whatever they call it on cars. The feeling of the engine kicking in when no extra gas is pushed.

No, I feel it is almost the opposite of that, gas is being pushed, nothing happens, and then all of a sudden it kicks in

wait...automatic or manual? i assumed it was manual. it could just be your valve timing...well you know....timing. remember, its cold. cold weather makes cars "different"

Yes, it is manual

I never had anything like this all last winter though, and it's not THAT cold yet. Definitely is an issue of some sort, very noticeable even to passengers.

Does the problem happen if you have the vents set to blow only at your feet?

Is it just an acceleration problem? Does your car idle unevenly? If so could be a throttle position sensor problem

yes, it is very jerky when it is happening, and it shakes during idle also. however it runs perfectly most of the time, it is just the odd times it does happen are very noticeable.
and also i am unsure about the a/c only on feet, haven't thought to check that. i did try changing from 0-4, etc and didn't notice a change, but cannot remember what position it was in. will try that next time.
