Hi guys,
I'm a little bummed out today so just thought I rant a bit and see how everyone is doing... I just got my second speeding ticket within 2 years with my M3 2011. I got one last year which I wasn't able to fight because the location to drive to court would of been out of town. I pleaded guilty to that one and should have fought it. Today, another added to my record driving 26km in a 40 zone. I plan to fight it as I do have a few reasons. Hopefully I can reduce the cost or something. He actually gave me another that says "currently no validated permit." This was a big mistake on my part because I was driving my gf's car and she had all her old copies of her permit in the glovebox and pulled out the old one by accident. So I guess we'll have to bring the correct one to court and hope they waive that ticket($110).
To add to the stress, I was in an at fault accident just last month right before christmas. Paid a $500 deductible and nobody was hurt which is good news. I was also in a not-at fault accident last year as well.
Anyway, I'm very stressed out today because I'm worried about money in general especially insurance premiums. I'm currently paying $175 and its actually going up $30 next month because of the first speeding ticket. Thankfully, the at fault accident is waived because I had some kind of first accident forgiveness on my account. I can't wait till next year see how much it'll go up again due to the new speeding ticket I got today. Then again, hopefully I can fight this one off. I even wonder if I can find another insurance holder with my record for cheaper. I doubt it.
I definitely learned a lot about it and after each ticket, I would always tell myself to drive with extra care and be safe. Lesson learned right? I guess, I tend to forget after a while...but I know these can be little things and its good to move on and try to do your best to be more cautious out in the road. Especially if i'm driving pessengers like my gf. I'm thankful that I have her here to support and cheer me up. Its unfortunate for me to have this badluck in the new year but I know I gotta keep my head up instead of being stressed out all the time.
Any of you guys out there or know anyone in a similar situation with lots of tickets/fear of insurance premiums? And how did you guys push through it? I probably know the answers already but if you guys have any stories, please share!
Thanks for reading.

I was insured on a commercial vehicle with a DZ license and had to sign a waiver thing because I was under 25 to keep a clean driving record! My birthday was December 10 I got a speeding ticket on Dec 8! Now because it was before my 25th birthday I have to pay a $2000 surcharge. Had my DZ for 3 years no problems! WTF!! My dads friend owns an XCOPPER deal and is fighting it just to get my date of conviction for after my 25 birthday. So I don't have to pay the surcharge. The ticket was for 15km over right in front of the OPP station that my company did the hydro services for! I didn't get a chance to tell the officer about my companies work! All well!!!

Out of curiosity what reasons could you have for going 76 in a 40 zone?
The only way around it is paying through the nose for the next 6 years and keep your record clean.
You may have accident forgiveness. But even that's not going to help you with multiple convictions in a short time. They will use that against you, as well going to any other insurance company will not give you the same forgiveness for that accident.

I have 2 speeding tickets (one shouldn't count) and a licence plate ticket. plate was in my windshield as I was painting my bumper the next day and I DID but he ticketed me any ways. One on highway 10 for 34kms over when I first got my G2 and I learned from this one (fought it down to 15 over and no points) and get this... Ticketed for doing 85kms in an 80 zone lol yup, 5 over. $12.25 ticket that rose my insurance by $40 a month. How sad is that?

Couldn't have out it better myself chris
To the OP, best of luck in 2013. The harshest lessons are usually the best lessons

My sympathies about the not at fault accident and license plate ticket. Unfortunately, your driving habits cost a pretty penny. If you refuse to learn from your mistakes or can't afford your expensive driving style, I suggest you tone it down. Be fortunate it hasn't cost you a life. Was the 40 kph a school zone?
Stay positive but please take it to the track :thumbsup

How is your insurance only 175/month in North York?
Exactly. I pay 260ish (don't remember off the top of my head..) a month and I am 31 with a clean record. Ok it's a speed 3 but 175/month on a Mazda 3 is still really low.

High insurance is usually what it takes for people to appreciate the privilege to drive.
I was paying $495month when I had my Mazda3, my car payments were just over $400 a month. $1,000 month before I put gas in it. I had 2 tickets, and one was for an accident with no claims and it still fubared me.
II am down to $148month now on my truck, 6 years later. I paid out the butt for 3 years, but I sure appreciate my good insurance now. My friends always raz me because I drive the speedlimit, I raz them back by saying I pay less for insurance and still get where I am going.
All you can do is hope the XCopper can help.

WOW! $175/month in North York. I used to live at Pharmacy and Finch and I was paying $220/month. When I moved to Wilson between Weston and Jane, they quoted me almost $400/month! And my record was clean at the time. So I switched my address to a Newmarket address, and it went down to $150/month. It's good to have family up there to cover for you.

If it makes you feel any better, I would kill for $175/mo.
Unfortunately I have no sympathy, don't drive 76 in a 40. 40's are usually school zones or small residential streets with parks.

OP says he was going 26 kph in 40 zone
If its a school zone then you can come with a good defence when you fight the ticket.
There is this '91-'93 Prelude and 2000 (give or take) golf that always do laps and speed in my neighbourhood. I gotta get around to complaining to the city or something and get a speed hump installed.

Even better. Roll a soccer ball in front of his car next time. Hell hit it and panic. Maybe teach him a lesson.
