So I have a friend of mine giving me a satalite radio, I'm going to find out if it's like the little boxes with a screen, buttons, a nob and all that. But I'm wondering how can I connect the satalite radio to my HU. I have a 2007 3, which has the SAT button, but IDK how this all works.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hey Matt, the SAT button is typically for cars already equipped with an XM/Sirius tuner. In your case, you will probably end up using a 3.5MM audio cable into the AUX port (if equipped) on your HU.
Failing that, you can always use and FM adaptor but thats the least preferable option.

I have a complete Satellite Radio from my 2008 Mazda 3, that I plan to uninstall from my car for sale.. It's hard to take photos of it at the moment.. I've own in for 5 Yrs now.. I've enjoyed the factory version better then one you buy from Best Buy.

thats what he's giving me. What's my options in terms of making an install clean. Looks like using my factory HU is out of the question?

Nothing, really. You'll need a cradle to hold it in place, and you will have a mess of wires. I'd probably go with sicsol's suggestion.

You MAY be able to do this, but only if your factory head unit has the MEDIA button.

The XM unit isn't worth much ($100 new) it's the subscription that is worth money. I am assuming that he is not giving your a subscription with it If I was you I would subscribe to a US account and not CAN. A long time ago when I started with XM it wasn't sold here yet. When it did come to CAN you couldn't get all the channels and you paid more and had to pay extra to listen online with the CAN account.

If you are going to hook it up you will have to make a wire so you have an AUX input as the other suggested. I would go with this type so you don't have to do any modifications to the wire http://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Cable-Connect-iPhone-Player/dp/B006FFCONA/ Or, you could run it through the FM modulator and tuner but the sound quality will not be good IMO. I don't know what Blue Tooth's frequency range is but I would bet that hard wiring is better specs than running it wireless. I am running a portable unit in my center console that is hard wired to the AUX input. You will also have to run an antenna wire and I just put it on the dash jammed against the front window and hide all the wire. You will also need a 12v power source which I have in the console and have an 12v socket expander I bought off Ebay. Depending on where you mount the XM unit you might need an extension cable from the wire from somewhere like Monoprice.
