front speaker upgrade - 8" mids

Swapped out factory 6x8" speakers for some 8" American Bass Mid Range speakers

Mounting the speakers right on the door cards isn't a really solid solution, they would sound better (and less chance of weird rattles) if they were mounted properly to the metal door frame underneath.

I don't have pictures of the back side, but there is mdf spacers so its screwed to the mdf witch is bolted to the door metal, I've had them on for about 8 months and sound Great,

Give much needed improvement over Stock speakers,

So you have to unscrew the speaker any time you want to take the door panel off?

Also, do you not have grills for them?

Yea unfortunately, but I'm hoping to re do them and fiberglass them, and yes I do have grills for them

Not a big deal, how often do you take off your door panel anyways?

Although to the OP: You are a brave man for running them without grills. I'd be terrified of the speakers getting kicked in or something.
