I was happy with the service and pricing at Mazda President. Was a bit far to go, but they were priced better than anyone else for a transmission flush. Service was good too!

The only dealership I've been to in the montreal area is Mazda 220.

They're gone and have been replaced by fairview mazda who stole the LED bulbs out of my car. For real. Claimed they were burned out and replaced them under warranty with 'new bulbs' which were not even new, they were swapped from another car. But they charged mazda for the cost of new bulbs. Blew. my. mind.

That sucks, 220 is now located in Pincourt just to let yah know. They still exist. I've never had any good luck with fairview mazda tho. They need to re-build their place, looks old and sloppy (in my opinion).

RE: Mazda President

I can't speak for the service department and I'll never know since I'm never going back there, but I was far from impressed from their sales.

They put up BS extra charges after the contract was signed, like over inflated fees for the plates and other hidden fees they couldn't even be bothered to explain when asked. It accounted only for a few dollars (less than 100$) but still, left a sour taste especially that they gave me the evil eye when I simply asked where it came from/justification.

They delivered my car with over inflated tires, one of the front tires was as high as 44 psi, with none of them being inflated equally, the car was also dirty (you should've seen how bad the engine bay looked) and they had put lock nuts on the steel rims, without telling me. When came the time to install my winter tires, I realized there were lock nuts, but had no idea where the key was or if I even had it! Turns out they had put it with the spare wheel, which for a car enthusiast is an obvious place, but someone else may have looked all over the car and freaked out. I mean, couldn't they just mention this stuff? They just gave me the paperwork/manual and told me they had other buyers waiting and, well, the sale was already concluded with me, so they didn't care about me anymore.

They even put the wrong date on the bill/contract. They wanted it dated from the previous month because of the poor sales for the month I guess, but it does have an impact on the warranty date. I kept the receipt for the certified cheque as proof, since they declined to modify the contract.

Also, usually a new car will have around 10km from moving it around, mine had 250km. They never mentioned anything about that before, I found out during delivery (after they had thrown the manual at me and left me alone in the parking lot). The gas tank wasn't completely full either. Wasn't missing much, maybe around 10L but still...

Hell, even the windshield washer fluid wasn't completely full, about half-full. How cheap can you be? They didn't even throw in one of them free car touch up pens

The cherry on top, but that's more Mazda's fault than the dealer's, my wife had signed up for a contest on their facebook page, and she had won a 1000$ rebate coupon, but she was on her iphone or whatever gadget she uses, and the Mazda app crashed before she could enter her email address, but it was after she had answer the mathematic skill-testing question and got a winning confirmation. Mazda refused to investigate and denied us our prize. That wasn't so nice from them, considering it's their app that crashed, and surely they had a log of what went on somewhere. I don't know if anyone here ever tried to call/contact Mazda Canada before, let me tell you it isn't an easy experience.

I guess it's for all these reasons they couldn't be bothered calling me a bit later for a satisfaction survey, like most dealers/manufacturers usually do. Nope, they just didn't care, the money was in the bank.

After all that, some of you may ask why the hell I even went ahead with the deal, well it still came out the cheapest car for what I was looking for at the time. But I'm never giving that stealership any business in the future, whether it's for service or buying my next car etc. I know all dealers are the same but... what else can someone do!

wow... that is ridiculous. Guess you've gotta buy a BMW/Merc (i.e. pay a fortune) to get good service these days :P

Consider yourself fortunate you were only cheated of less than $100 with dealership fees & markups. All the rest of the problems (over-inflated tires, wheel-lock key in trunk space, etc.) minus the salesman stranding you in the parking lot with the manual, contract date and high-mileage on delivery, are nitty picky issues most consumers are not aware of or find out over time eventually.

True, they banked on the probability that most consumers will not check the fluids, tire pressure, gas, etc. but you're smarter than most.

I'm with you 1000%, if you felt an ounce of mistrust or dissatisfaction, the best you can do is never give them your business and never refer them. I had a sour experience myself and actually have vowed to never return. Call me stupid, I was even offered 1 year of free oil changes, but I'd rather skip on that offer and save myself from all the hassles and get my vehicle serviced with utmost care at an established dealership that values it's customers and their property.

P.S. What dealership was this?!

I've been to Gabriel Mazda before and they weren't the greatest but eh.

Best experience I've had recently is Mazda Fairview.

Went out of their way to get me a courtesy car.

My bro got an Infiniti, and I was with him, and beleive me there was even more BS. They tried to rip him of a few G's... and my bro isn't smart with numbers so he was thankful I was with him and saved him that dough.

Then the city plowed his car not even 3 months after he got it brand new, and the repairs were done at the same dealer (Luciani) and again they cut the corners everwhere. Painful to see a 60k brand new car being poorly taken care of like that. Thankfully it's a lease so it'll be their problem in 3 years (they can only blame themselves since they fixed it themselves). Anyway, that's kind of OT...

I wanted to multi-quote both messages but messed up, and I can't edit my post.. anyway

Yeah I'm with you, I'm a man of principle. Once you gave me bad service and you HAD YOUR OPPORTUNITY to rectify it (I made it clear I was not satisfied and gave you your chance) and you still haven't done anything about it, you can't buy me back with discounts and freebies. You simply won't get my business anymore. I don't even want to generate traffic and make it look like they're OK for me to go there.

BTW I mentioned in my post it was Mazda President :)

Bought my Mazda 3 at President and traded it in for my Speed there also. Can't say anything bad about the sales but the service is absolutely horrible. Brought in my Mazda 3 for passenger side engine mount failure and was charged full price. They said it wasn't covered because I had mods on my car. Hell they even red flagged my car for having coilovers, aftermarket wheels and cold air intake. Service manager also talked like I didn't know what I was talking about, even though I had finished my mechanics course. So far I've had good service at Mazda Fairview for recalls and TSBs. As for maintenance, I get them done at my friend's garage, I could care less about warranty at this point.

the service was good and the salesman were honest and because of the fact i got mine when the 2012 first came out he was not so willing to lower the price too much but got some freebies thrown in

ever since then i ve been servicing my car there, all i can say is im happy with their service.

That would be useless. Mazda Canada has absolutely horrible customer service even when you get up the chain of command.

MAZDA 2-20 in Pincourt, the salesperson was very enthusiastic during the negociations for the 2 Mazda's my wife and I bought. The problem only starts after you have signed on the dotted line. I emailed my salesperson after I told him I want the remote starter for my M3 GS-Sky removed as it is a MT car and it is a hassle to arm the starter once you park. Long story short I emailed the sales guy and asked how much I would get back for the starter(I have only had my car for 2 weeks) and after 4 days no response. I hate people like that. That is the first and last pair of M3"s I will buy ever.
