To me it looks as if he was just trying to prove a point to her. That she only considered going out with him when she thought that he was some "big shot". The next morning when she bumps into him & realizes that he is a "common worker", he gives her that look & nod "yup, it's me, the guy you blew off".

Though the title is in Russian (something about what you can do with the right car), the ad takes place in the Ukraine. Had to make that clear.....lol
