2012 mazda 3 factory head unit

I have a 2012 mazda 3 GX with upgraded audio package and i was wondering the head unit does have the sat button but if i click it does nothing. how can i activate my sirius in my car . ?

if you click on it and it doesn't work then either
A) you need to add the satellite tuner unit
or
B)you need to call sirious and set up an account with them.
or
both

I am pretty sure you need to do both. When I press sat on my stock radio it goes to the preview channel

If pressing the SAT button does nothing, then that means you only have a SAT 'ready' radio. You'll need to buy the Mazda tuner and antenna and have it installed.

would you have any idea how much the tuner and atena is ? like could i get oem mazda one ? for that head unit

Not sure how much the Mazda one is as mine came from the factory with it installed, but it's a readily available Mazda accessory. Search Google for Mazda dealers online or call your local dealer parts department.

It's about $400 in parts for the Sirius kit from Mazda.

Only the GTE package came with XM satellite all others have to buy the option. Not worth it IMO unless you want the convenience of it integrating with your stock unit. I have a portable unit I hook up to the aux input or I run it off my phone using their app.
