4 on the floor is pretty well known as far as I know. 3 on the tree refers to old 60's comet type cars. 3 gear tranny the shifter is on the steering column. I used to hang out with a few old bikers who restore cars( dads friends) . They were the only one I ever heard refer to it as that.
Just didn't want to sound to much like a tool. Lol.
