wow, I would hope I'd help the guy.. I would want someone to do the same to me.
I always worry that the people making the point could get hurt though, I.e stabbed, or getting all that shit from the fire extinguisher in your face. Makes it really hard to breath.

Can't really blame the guy...yeah I would have helped him, but he may have thought that if he did anything he could get in trouble. Video is a sure fire way of conviction.

I wonder how many times the guy doing the 'killing' got hurt by bystanders. One of the first things that came to my mind is punching him square in in the nose... and I'm not even a violent person, lol. I just know that in a moment like that, one second longer can be the matter of life and death to the victim.

I understand, but that's not the point I'm trying to make. In this day and age, people can get sued for anything, by anyone. Supposed those guys were play fighting and the guy with the camera jumped in. Those two would sue him for assault. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to defend the guy with the camera, but that's just the reality of today.

Indeed it is. I bet back in our dads or grand-dads days, they would have jumped in, kicked his ass, and left him there, and get the superman treatment from other people who saw it.

ya true...I see what you are saying too...but I honestly don't think that is what that guy is thinking lol...I am of the mind that he is just clueless :p...the people that walked away were probably the ones that wanted nothing to do with it...(which in my mind is just as sad...if not more)

You would be really surprised what people will and will not do.
My friends birthday a few years ago ( actually hes on the board and from barrie. mcordy I think)
about 5 of us stood on the corner of Bathurst and collage ( beside sneaky dees) and while he was curled in the fetal position we repeatedly kicked him. We weren't taking it easy either. ( long story but he will even tell you, He deserved it, it was just the way we were)
The corner was very busy, lots of pedestrians and a few cops.
People looked, laughed, pointed. But no one even said anything. Even the cops looked at us.
Now I will say that the cops probably seen what happened prior to this, so they would know we were all friends.
Most people won't do a damn thing. In reality. You never know what can happen. So i dont blame them. My exes cousin was murdered in front of a club for stepping in on some creep who was terrorizing a few girls.

sorry to hear about that, but its a great point. Buddy is standing up for a woman, and gets stabbed, and dies. But that POS who stabbed him is in prison, with 'bubba' wasting my goddamn tax money

I agree. The only savior is that once released ( probably within another 5 years) he will be deported, if he hasn't been already.
I do know they attempted to have him serve 3 years and then be deported to an Albanian prison. I do not know if that happened.
And I don't think there is a reason to blame bubba. I'm sure he didn't have anything to do with it. ( bubba as in the member here. Lol).

+1000 ya what ever happened to the death penalty? Why bother sentencing for life when we just pay for them to have 3 square meals a day, a work out gym, basketballs, tv, internet...and no worries of bills...or making their car payment on time. I don't understand our society anymore.
I mean I don't think the death penalty should be used for everyone...but if there was no shadow of a doubt they were guilty...like in this case why not...whatever happened to "an eye for an eye"

You forgot about free education.
Although I do agree, and support capital punishment, I can understand the apprehension.
Think about the guy who spent 20 years in prison for the rape/murder of the little girl. Who turned out to be not guilty.
Having said that. Certain circumstances like Paul Bernardo call for capital punishment. Even people like the POS who murdered Jordan. He had multiple convictions, 1 of which he stabbed a guy and slashed a girl with a 4" knife.

exactly that's why I said if the accused is 100% irrefutably guilty...then why wast tax payers money...if they have some evidence but not enough to be sure, like the guy who was wrongly convicted of rape, and murder then a life sentence should do...(until more evidence comes out) however wrongful convictions is another thing entirely in my book...There should be some safeguard or something to protect the innocent against something like that from happening.

Agreed.
Although the guy who was released. There was 100% certainty that he was the one. Turned out to be false.
IMO. no tv, 1 meal a day ( that's all I eat.) a 4x6 cell and nothing else.
When you commit a crime like murder. You give up all your right and privileges.
Again. I do agree with capital punishment under special circumstances.
Btw.
Canada does still have capital punishment. The crime is treason and the punishment is hanging from the tree outside of old city hall.

oh...note to self...never commit treason :p That actually still makes me happy. But yes I agree, and I am not sure if they are able but prisoners sure as hell shouldn't be able to vote...
I agree with you 100% peter.

Believe it or not but capital punishment in most cases cost more than keeping someone locked up for life.
And not sure where you got that whole thing about having basketball courts, televisions etc but in maximum security prisons that stuff is limited if not available at all.
Oh and Why put a sick twisted person to death and end them of their misery when they can rot in jail for life? Seems to me if you want them to suffer that would be the choice...

so the guy is already unstable, and an even higher risk. Good candidate for CP

all good points. Id say that if a few innocent people were killed for the greater good of having more 'hardened' criminals put to death it would be for the better, but if i were to put myself in an innocents persons families shoes, I wouldnt stand for that.

i would love to say i would jump in and beat the $hit out that guy, but having helped someone in distress before i would rather call 911/take a pic and maybe try to get a kick in at most.
last time i helped someone getting purse snatched, the dude i tackled whom was way taller than me, was so infuriated he tore my expensive jacket with his bare hands to pieces, and if it wasn't for the 2 bi-standers seeing this, I’m sure this would of ended in a worse way.
looking back at it, i think, phuq if this dude had a knife he would of messed me up.
