So I was preparing my mazda for the road today, and noticed that my hand brake doesn't seem to engage, even if pulled all the way .. What could cause that and is there any way to fix it without replacing the lines ? Thabnka !

seized. some mechanical part is stuck and being stubborn. were you the one that posted up the winter storage thread before winter?? didnt we all say not to keep the parking brake on? lol but its a force of habit i suppose. take it somewhere so they can inspect where it might be stuck. they might be able to spray some sort of penetrating fluid and work it loose again.

That's me ! But believe it or not, I stored it in my garage and I didn't keep it on, hence why Iwas wondering how such a problem could occur ..

ohh, the opposite lol. it could still be sticking somewhere. since your pulling, its only stretching the cable but not engaging the lever that activates the brake. best to take it to someone to locate the problem. its usually not that hard to figure out so it shouldnt take long.
