Passenger side wiper not moving

This morning when I got in my car, the wipers tried to autowipe but they couldn't due to the snow and ice on the windshield so I stopped them, got out and cleaned the windshield and unstuck the blades. I got back in and only the drivers side wiper blade was properly moving and wiping. The passenger side was basically lifeless. It would move maybe a few cm up and down. There's nothing I can see that's blocking it or preventing it.

What can I check? Is there a wiper motor per blade and perhaps that one is dying? I can't imagine it being a temperature issue especially when the other one works fine. Help :(

Edit: just did some googling, seems like it could be a loose nut, or perhaps a the wiper arm is stripped where the nut goes in - will have to check this when I get home from work!

Maybe it had one too many strokes?

wiper linkage is broken. youll need to replace it. best bet is probably a scrap yard. i got one at a scrap yard in ottawa for 25$ i think includint the motor.

Happened to me when I first got the car and started it when I wanst in it. Strips the "threaded" part that connects the wiper arm to the car.

It's weird - I can't seem to find the wiper arm anywhere. Tried rockauto, and the local junkyard place near me (Dom's Auto in Courtice) - but nothing listed. Where did you go?

Problem solved! Was able to undo the cap/nut with my hand and the arm came right up and out.

I took the cap off the nut, and tightened it back onto the arm, and I'm all working again!
Was just a loose nut :D

it's designed this way as a fail safe... all cars are like this

I took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warrenty. lol

Mine was fubared, I took it apart to check.
