Being a younger guy with a bunch of friends who like to mess with each other I have come across the problem that changing the time is too easy! All my friends hit the buttons, so I was wondering is there anyway I could disconnect the time buttons on the dash without it causing many problems?

Instead of disconnecting the buttons, you just need new friends.

How about having a trigger that will run electricity through to the buttons...that way when your friends touch the buttons they get electrocuted... Might work better than disabling the buttons

I like that idea.

Most of us are trying to get the time feature to work in our cars.

Best thing you can do is upgrade your HU. Assuming it is the same concept as a gen 1. Time will not be displayed after an upgrade.

Personally I'm in the midst of trying to make a simple push button time change feature for those with upgraded HU,s

I realize it probably isn't the same but it may be, so screw it. I already had this typed before I realized he was in a 2012. I didn't feel like wasting my time more then I had.

Does anyone know if the buttons have a simple plug behind them? Maybe you can just haul it out. I don't really know, im a car noob.

i believe theres a connector behind the vents behind the hazzards and time. Would assume they control those functions

Game on!!! You need to instill fear into them that they will get it worse from you... Back when I was younger my friends were afraid of the devious ways I would get them back and soon learnt not to cross the line.

Once they put Tabasco sauce in my mouth while I was sleeping. So a while later I put iodine (for cuts) on their face and everyone thought they had chicken pox for weeks as it doesn't wash off and must wear off. Did I mention they worked at a gas station and had to explain this to all the customers...
