I just picked new 3 yesterday. Plugged in my ipod classic to usb connector....does not work properly at all....will not play correct track. Also when you switch to radio and then back to usb...screen is blank....only way to get display is to unplug ipod and re-plug. Anyone else encounter this?

Are you using the OEM Mazda ipod cable?

No, I'm using my orginal USB cable. 2013 only has the ports no special harness.

To my understanding, in order for the iPod to work [properly], you'll need the OEM Mazda iPod adapter kit for it to work.

I spoke with my dealer and they are saying the 2013 should not need the harness or adapter. They are confirming. Has everyone else had this issue. Does any of our dealer members have any suggestions?

havent heard of this issue, the CX-5 uses the same style USB adapter. I would check the USB cord itself we have had a customer who had a damaged cable and didnt realize it.

does your car have bluetooth, if so dont worry about using the cable and just send the signal through the bluetooth.

I thought the cord was an issue and I purchased a new cord and still the same issue.
