hey guys, not sure if you know about this video or not but a bunch of my buddies in long island and all around the east coast of the US are putting together this documentary and I'm filming some stuff for it showing the automotive tuning culture up here in ontario, as of today you can preorder but besides that, I need your help to put together some interviews and show what you guys are all about up here and what makes you different!.

they are looking for some meet footage as well as the interviews so if you know of any meets or would be interested if I set one up in about 2-3 weeks or so let me know!

this documentary will be epic!

AA opener is on the 25th and MASIV the week after that apparently http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?70055-AA-Thursday-2013-Season-Opener-Thursday-April-25th-7-30pm&p=1069336#post1069336. Openers are always large turn outs. Setting up your own might be a good idea as well though since I'm sure many attending wouldnt be expecting to be filmed. Id be down for a meet but I would be a terrible person to interview LOL.

Your best off asking permission in the threads for these meets. As well as asking SFW permission.

Didnt know i had to ask permission, never ran into that on any other forum. Nor do i know what sfw means. Just trying to get as much exposure for this documentary as possible, set something big up to show north america what the car culture is like up here

Well you will need permission from the people being filmed. Or else faces cannot be shown.

You MAY also need permission to film by SFW. I don't know how that works as I don't own a site.

For example if I ended up in a documentary that I didn't want to be in. My face is shown, I'd have the right to sue. A certain level of privacy is expected, so usually at events with film crews there is a disclaimer of being filmed( usually on the back of tickets and stuff)

SFW is a moderator on this forum. The big cheese, lol.
You definitely aren't required to ask permission to film for the DVD at a meet. But people might appreciate a heads up. Prettysure the law was recently changed to allow filmmakers to show faces without permission if it's in a public place.

If money is being made off the docu then I am under the impression he would need permission, at least from the individual's being filmed.

I dont know about law changes.

If I were you I'd look into it though. You never know what may or may not be needed.

okay I'll take care of making sure people are aware of what I am filming for. As for getting permission from the site moderator to film at a meet I don't think I would need to do that becuase he would have nothing to do with what I am doing. but I guess I could be wrong.

I'll look into it and give people a heads up, but I'm sure more people then not will WANT to be included in the dvd

For sure.

As for SFW.

He does a lot of work to keep this club going. Getting sponsorships from things like ultra94 ect. To me it's just a sign of respect to see if he requires anything from you. Like I said. I don't know how that works but it's best to contact him.

You should adjust the volume control on your video. I found myself constantly turning up the volume to hear the people speaking then had to turn it down as the music was too loud..
Other wise looks like it could turn out pretty good!

The smartest thing to do is to ask people before you film them or their cars.

I definitely do not want to be in any of your videos or interviews. Nothing against you, I just don't want to be in them, and I don't want my car in them either.
