Tire Sizes for GT

I have a 2006 Gt Hatch with 205 50 R17 summer tires.The winter tire size recommended by mazda is 205 55 R16. I have a set of
205 60 R 16 from another car. Can I instal these or would they be too high?

You can install the balloon tires and your speedometer will be off slightly, but they should fit.

Provided you are not lowered you should be fine. I would suggest using a wheel with as close to stock offset as you can find. If you do rub it will usually be in the front driver-side fender well. Nothing we can't fix though.

if you are stock hight you will be fine. I ran the same size tires for a few winter seasons.

Go to www.1010tires.com and click on the tire calculator. It will ask you for your stock size (or put in what vehicle you have), then put what tire size you're considering to change to. It will tell you the differences between your tire and the new size. The lower percentage difference, the better.
