Hey guys. I just got my car back from getting some warranty body work done and I noticed a couple things.

A) my key fob doesn't work. I tried to unlock my doors and nothing. No response when I hit the lock /unlock buttons on the fob. Doors unlock just fine using the button on the door.

B) my radio and centre console display don't work. worked fine when I brought it in, now there's no power.

C) door ajar light won't turn off. obviously tried reclosing all the doors and no change.

I'm assuming all these issues are connected somehow. Any ideas?

i would just get it back in there, if you start getting into the wiring too much they will just blame you for the electrical gremlins.

the less you touch, the more protection you have lol.

but ide be going through all the wiring around where they worked.

EDIT: its probably a large connector somewhere, i had a cracked one on my sedan from the body to the door and it affected all kinds of stuff intermittently, i chopped all the wires off and hard wired them lol, no more removing that door though lol.

They were just doing paint work lol. They decided to clean the interior. Now it's screwed and there's a big scratch in my tint

Take it back man. They should be responsible for these things. Probably forgot to connect something back together.

I'll be taking it back. Just thought if I could quickly fix it myself I'd do that since it's kind of inconvenient to get over there. But now that I see the big scratch in my tint is going back for sure

Blown fuse(s)?

The FOB for the locks I don't think works with the doors open, the door ajar could cause that.

But either way take it back, that's some shoddy work.

RAGE.

+1000

I don't understand what they could have been doing in the interior that would have scratched the tint. Shoddy work is right.

Really hope they don't try to deny damaging the tint. I'll update this later, I'm taking it back today after class

sounds like it would be related to one another, i would think the key wont work because it thinks the doors are already open as the ajar light is always on, but check all the doors and locks, or i was just bad timing and the bettery died. radio and center console id check the radio and even room fuse see if they popped. hopefully they will get it fixed and correct for your tint damage :(

So the recap:
I purchased a corrosion warranty through SymTech when I bought my car. I bought the car at Forbes Mazda in Waterloo. I noticed small amounts of rust developing in the wheel wells so I took it back to Forbes Mazda. They inspected and approved the repair and made an appointment at Forbes GM for repair, since all the Forbes dealerships in town use them for body work.

So anyway, I took the car back in to Forbes GM on Friday last week to see what's up with the work they did. They were very polite and apologetic and brought the car in to examine what could have gone wrong. After poking around for two hours, they couldn't figure it out. So tomorrow they are sending it over to Forbes Mazda to see if they can find the issue. I don't really understand how they can't find the problem, since all they need to do is go through everything they did and make sure it's all back together... but whatever.

Also they offered to replace the tint they scratched free of charge.

All in all I will be happy, so long as the electrical issue gets resolved.

My brother in law recently had his yaris repaired at forbes body shop after a snow drift threw his little yaris into a well built country mailbox lol.

They did a good job, and the service was great.

Good on them for sending the car to mazda.. There body guys cant diagnose mechanical/electrical problems even if they caused it. They are just autobody tech's lol.

Interested to see the outcome^

The work they did on my fenders is perfect. They replaced a broken side skirt clip free of charge. They cleaned and essentially detailed the interior of my car. All great things that I was/am quite happy with.

But I would have liked to have been informed that they were going to clean my car. And some of the paint work they did was extremely shoddy.

For instance:

There was no rust here, just a spot where paint flaked off. They globbed paint in there without sanding the area down or masking the rear glass. I am not ok with this because all it's going to do is trap water
